Damn, Alan. You always have the best stuff. Trying to catch up with you is like chasing a Ferrari on foot.
The wife says you're cute, too.

My mom used to travel to Hong Kong in 1960s to buy knitwear. One of her factory owners had a son who bought a Ferrari. She said there was nowhere on the island to get the car out of second gear. Anyhow, I am not moving too fast these days. You'll catch up and pass me any day now. And thanks to your wife... I don't get too many whistles any more. ;^)

In Ikaroa Beach Club with Ana, Maralisa, and her boy friend, Alejandro.

Luckily, I am not the jealous father type, Brent [emoji2].
Besides, it's hard to dislike this kid, even though he is a Spaniard. He abandoned the ugly Spanish accent quickly.

The young airman at the guard shack checking my ID this morning told me, "I'm liking that hat!". Which of course I thanked him for. And just now walking into the grocery, a fellow told me I was "wearing that hat like Dick Tracy."

I of course thanked him as well.

Outstanding! That’s the first vintage straw/felt combination I’ve ever seen. What decade would you place it?

I would guess the hat to be WWII era, perhaps slightly earlier. It has what appears to be an HCA variant label - also an adjustable sweatband similar to the HCA "sizor" though without any reference to the mechanics or the patents seen on other straw hats and discussed here. When I looked for more information on the "sizor" adjustable sweatband I found the thread and saw that we had discussed these last year. There is an advertisement reference to Dunlap straws with adjustable sweatbands dating to 1938, which I've posted below.

I love the combination of colors of this Borsalino, even if the felt, very tender, would need a stretch to lose some folds

No indication of color and shape:rolleyes:, it is a modern Borsalino
