What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

A day late, so "what was I wearing yesterday"; the first in my nine-hat-haul from last week. A new-to-me medium gray 50's Dobbs with a slate/purple ribbon. This hat looks much darker inside. The fit and finish are very nice; like I've been wearing this my whole life. Brent @deadlyhandsome let me keep this one for it's next story in life.

I like these somewhat understated hats very much. Classic model, wider ribbon: beautiful.

A more cold day with brigth sun, more spingtime than hotter days of last week

Etablissements Ecuyer & Thomas - Chazelles s/ Lyon, homburg (diplomatique) made in France before the WWII

No other indications, neither paper label, only the size 6o cm or 6 1/2 for the French hats mesurements

The felt is very thin and soft and the color is a violet-burgundy

Proportions are generous: brim at 6,5 cm and crown at 11,5 cm, no lining only a tip

The wisteria on my back is starting to flourish, in some days it will be complete
Thanks for all the likes and kind words of the last week

It’s just a cute term for between, or transitional. The hat is between age markers. It has stars on the crests (usually a sign of a 40s hat) but a little plastic on the liner (definitely 50s). So it straddles the time markers.

What's a "tweener"? 'Tween what and what?

Oh my Alan!
Now this is a hat, a hat of distinction.
Disney made such fine hats. And a Forty Class! Magnificent in all categories.
Thanks
B

That has me whistling as well, Alan. Fantastic.

Wow! Totally in love with that ribbon.

Thank you guys. Disney and Lee made some nice fashion forward hats. Spring cleaning reminded me that I have two Disney 40s and need to take them out for a walk more often.
