Been away for a while. Three nights in Melbourne, two in an airplane with 73screamingvomiting kids. My Acorn Fawn Stylemaster took the trip with me. The vomiting began with one kid on day one in Australia (not the flight). It hit its peak on the last day. One in the bus, and continuing on the flight home, and another two on the flight.
The photos are taken in front of the Puffing Billy small gauge steam engine. Our failure to get the students to take motion sickness medicine before riding likely contributed to the problems.

Sleep deprivation, both in Australia, and especially on the flight home have made me the latest to succumb. I’ve been on water and “Oral Rehydration Solution” all day, as I’m unable to hold anything else down. Also struggling with headaches and stiffness.
That said, the hats I’ve been catching up on on this thread have offered some respite. There have been some truly magnificent offerings, and quite a few that I’d like to comment on individually, but with this brain fuzz, I don’t really feel up to it.

What a fabulous photo. Steam technology might be antiquated but it still holds a fascination. That intoxicating smell of oil and water in a cloud of steam, just wonderful. The hat too is of the era, compliments to you, your photo has really made me smile.
My wife Tina, indulges me, knowing my love of steam, she bought us a couple of tickets for a vintage event at at a preserved heritage railway. Seen here, the two of us being photo-bombed by Hercules, not that I minded.
