Oh my, but I've been having a successful November, hat-wise!!

There's a whole thread on these, going all the way back to 2006, so I don't think I need to go into detail for you folks; most of you probably know more about these hats than I do.

Proudly showing off my new-to-me Demon Hanover, which possesses one of the all-time kewlest freaking linings I've ever seen on a hat.

If it’s true that the under-the-lining tag reflects the creation date, then mine was born in September, 1953, just 14 months after I was. The hat is DEFINITELY in better condition.

The hat I had made by Gamble & Gunn. They describe it as: A "Mason." It's in silver grey.
A talented Cordwainer that I know, name of Colin Johnson, made the shoes.
My lady made the shirt and trousers.
What really struck me about this photo, it's mid-November and I am in short sleeves.
If it gets any warmer I shall have to dust off the straw hats!

What a week it’s been! Here, on the Post New Hats Here thread, and on the What Hat are you Waiting For thread.
Now I’ve come a long way and picked up a few nice hats since I started, but looking at the posts from this week alone, I feel almost as much as a beginner as I did at the start!
Kudos to everyone for their stunning hats.

Chilly low 40s here this morning... time for something warm on the head. How about a black Stetson Imperial Dexter. Its a Key Club line hat with the Ultimate finish... medium weight felt thats dense, smooth, and soft.

This morning I'm sporting a Stetson 4X Gambler style hat that I bought for only 45.00 on Ebay. Once again I added a pencil curl brim just because I really like the look. The hat came to me without a hatband so I found what appeared to be a really nice one complete with buffalo head nickels all the way around. Dang shame I paid almost TWICE for the hatband than I did for the hat. I had to re-work the Buffalo head nickel conchos so they didn't stand off the hatband by 1/8 inch or more. ( You can see this in the pictures of the hat. Last pic shows finished results with conchos now sitting tight to the leather hatband) Really wasn't that hard, just opened up the holes in the hatband so the post on the concho could go "through" the hatband and not sit on top of it. Then I had to shorten the screws that go in post on concho so the screw would tighten down and keep the concho from rotating. I spent an hour or so out in my shop making this hatband like it should have been done in the first place. Next thing I did was contact the vendor I bought the hatband from and we had a little conversation about the issue. None of the pictures in her ad showed the conchos sticking out like that. When all was said and done she ended up refunding over 15.00 of price for my trouble. I just can't understand why someone would let a product leave their shop with obvious flaws such as this because the materials used are top notch, the execution not so much.

Very nice, Timmy, and your efforts to correct the flawed workmanship were first-rate. And I agree with you; how people can send out a product with OBVIOUS QC issues always baffles me as well.

Nice hat Rick ! I've got a Key Club that looks very similar except mine has a "pattern" printed on the liner whereas yours looks solid white. Can't see your hatband much but mine has a shark gill treatment on the side... is yours like that too ?
