Catching up again. Missed this beauty over the weekend. Love the finish, looks like the sweat is pristine.

I had promised Stefan to open the boxes of hats with long hair
hx82ro.jpg

Here is the first of the series
2v150zr.jpg

Barbisio Titan size 60 or 7 1/2 US made, probably, in the sixties

The color is "Marron" and the felt is Beaver, a rarity for the European hat making. Soft enough and with another consistency compared to long hairs in rabbit or hare

It is clearly a product of the highest quality and appropriate price. Here I wore it in diffused light and with some rays of sunlight to give light to an already bright felt of his own
vopr2o.jpg

The brim was snap down, but it is very nice even with brim ups
Thanks for your recents likes and kind words
Buona domenica!
What a wonderful finish. I have sent a couple Barbisio Titans to Stefan recently, they sure are superb hats.

Stetson Revenger reworked into a gambler by Mike Miller.
Like the style Bob. Mike did a great job on this one.

Sweet 'Burg Jim. I assume it is 1950s?

Good morning folks. The beaded hat bands, conversions, longhair hats, gorgeous vintage and modern hats of late have been spectacular. Thanks for sharing.

Today's relative heat wave, 20'f without a wind, finds me doing outside chores in a VS fedora with a gill ribbon treatment. No jacket required for chores - so far. The VS (blue/gray) blue-smoke beaver felt is a fav hue of mine.

Best, Eric -
Man, I love this color. I wonder if he still has this felt color? Need to make a trip down south to Art's facility.

Thanks Red. I have to settle for hills around here, but then again I guess I've always favored hills to mountains for anything except a view.

Thanks D. You were looking good in the tux again.

I haven't had this Dallas on for awhile.

With the usual Harris Tweed for a day of lounging at home.

Sounds like I might need rain gear and hat for tomorrow's outing.
Have a good one,
Michael
Love the color on the Dallas. Does it have a blue tone to the gray or is it the Iowa light?

Perfect hat for this resort, it just seems to fit right in with the background.

Boy, I have been really out of the loop of late. Didn't even catch the demise of the fine cookie duster! Great looking color on that Standard.

So far, the only hat I've picked up here is on a complimentary keychain from the people at Tren Ecuador...

I think that might fit Alan or Stefan. Nice weave.

The vintage Stetson Bantam and I worked the outside wood grill for our yesterday's evening dinner.

Hahahaha. No, even if I were still asking him to do that, it would still be too much of a stretch.

I thought Iggy's resizing wizardry was only looked down on when reducing desirable sizes, not expanding all those unloved sub 7 ones.
Wouldn't want the poor guy to miss a payment on his new boat... :)

I have noticed that it is VERY similar in block, flange, dimendions and trim to a Whippet. Ol' Steven should have called it the Greyhound just to poke the bear a little... :D

Gorgeous shine on that one Daniele. One fine looking hat.

This seems to be a complex grey, Red. In some lights it's a light blue, in others a sort of minty green.

Today I was out for a couple of hours in a steady rain. The Backhouse hat and Woolrich slicker kept me totally dry and comfortable.

In Ecuador, they make elaborate paper mache figures and call them Los Años Viejos, referring to the past year that is passing. Then they burn them to send off the old year and welcome the new year.

The government has passed laws about the burning, but it's not possible to crack down on it too much as it's so prevalent. Sometimes the años viejos are stuffed full of fireworks, adding to the excitement.

I think I might have figured out why your relatives were wearing red. My wife says you wear red if you are wishing for love on the new year, and yellow if you are wishing for money.
