So the Lord Kent takes the tight front pinch because it has a thin brim binding. Actually, I don't even know if it's considered a true homburg - maybe more of a curl-brim fedora?

You can see how thin the binding is in the photo of the Lord Kent. Of course that means that the pinch is happening on the non-bound felt, which you can’t do on a full-bound homburg.

This Dobbs that I showed a few days ago would be an excellent candidate for the tight front pinch, but I love him too much as he is, so I've never done it.

I received compliments on my Gannon Triple Deuce pork pie yesterday from an elderly lady who said she liked my "city hat". In my part of the world, that means any hat that is not a cowboy hat! We then talked about grandchildren for a while.

Another Dobbs curl brim for me today - this one a full homburg but the front brim does lock down a little.

Kind of reminds me of a 17th Century Puritan’s hat with this bash. Don’t reckon John Calvin would’ve approved of the color scheme, though.
