Love that brim curl.
Thank you, Reggie. It's hard to pick favourites.Thank you, Stefan. The homburgs are quite impressive the Kolhndorfer is my favorite, but I really really like the Blum and the Barbisio.

Today I went and picked up my newest addition. The man who I purchased this from said that his grandfather had this in his closet for many, many years. His family had a large farm in New Jersey and when the farm was sold after over a hundred years, he was going through the property and found this treasure. I asked him where his grandfather would of bought this hat and he wasn't sure as he or anyone else in the family ever saw hm wear a fedora. So for what ever reason, the hat was stored away and never worn. Now I've heard both sides of the coin on these vintage Stephen L. Stetson hats but what peaked my interest is, I was able to purchase it for less than 100.00. The hat was never worn, not even once, it came with the original box, and all the tags are still attached to the sweat band. Whether you're opinion of Stephen L Stetson hats is a good one or not so great, one thing is for sure, this was a treasure I couldn't pass up. Though it's a 7 1/8 and I wear a 7 3/8, I'm not even going to try and do anything with it.
Thanks Randall, I appreciate that.Great hat!! I like the SLSs. Awesome story.
That is one beautiful hat, RandallA sweet old Dunlap that I re-created with only this dog eared bow and later period, but matching liner.
Too big so I’ll be selling her some day soon. View attachment 564386 View attachment 564387 View attachment 564388 View attachment 564389

My experience with Stephen L Stetson hats has only Been positive. I think they are a cool piece of hat manufacturing history with the “Never Connected in Anyway” disclaimer / story and many have the Carter detachable leather sweat system… which while not particularly practical… is very interesting. Yours appears to be in fantastic shape… the box as well!Great hat!! I like the SLSs. Awesome story.
Thanks, Joe!That is one beautiful hat, Randall
Its very nice, what are the dimensions? Thanks, Joe!
Might make a decent trade hat, if anyone with a 7 1/2 head is interested.
Head opening: 8 3/8” x 6 1/2”Its very nice, what are the dimensions?
Very cool, not sure I have anything to trade, but if you want to sell it send me a message.Head opening: 8 3/8” x 6 1/2”
4 1/2” crown as pinched in front.
2 3/4” brim
1 3/4” hat band
1/4” reveal with hidden stitched binding on top, and 1/2” reveal with seen stitches underneath. A nice and rare way to sew on binding that Terry and I are trying to figure out how to pull off.
HmmmThanks, Joe!
