I’ve had 8s and 81s. They’re heavy but they are also pieces of mechanical art. I’m without one in my collection at this time having traded my last off years ago.

here is another, my model 8 in 32 I In in SC I got it from a lady in California, her daddy hunted with it in Napa valley. it was made in 1927 like me the gun and hat or relics from the past,,,,,,

Borsalino Qualità Extra Extra Superiore. Color "Cafro"

The felt is light velvet, but of different consistency that the "Angico" Borsalino

It is a hard tasking render the right color, but in the shadow it is fine

Good looking hat Jim. How's the quality compared to vintage?

It's a great felt that responds pretty well with a soft hat. However, it's also a pretty thick felt. Definitely a cool weather hat.

And to be fair, the vernal equinox is in March. The winter solstice, at least for those of us in the northern hemisphere, would be what you are referring to. I knew what you meant tho. It can be hard to think when you have hats on the brain...
