I found an amazing guy on Etsy who makes leather flat caps. If there is interest in them I will post his info but hate to advertise without permission.

Looks like a gazunder, that's corrupt slang. Gazunder, (goes under) the bed. In other words a chamber pot, used in the night, back in the days when household lavatories were outside.

Pre-war Borsalino this afternoon. I think Daniele said it was from the 30s or 20s, I'm not sure.
I wouldn't have dared resize this one. It really does seem old and unique to me. Fortunately, it fit just fine.
