Great looking hat. Your mustang is quite cool. My brother restored one not too long ago and gave it that same paint job.

The car has been a 10 yr project and there will always be more to do, but its at the point it looks pretty good and I can have fun with it while continuing to tinker with it. I love the classic blue and white color scheme, was your brother's a coupe or a fastback?

Planted in the corner of this Art Nouveau house in 1912 (architect Ettore Fagiuoli https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ettore_Fagiuoli) it has resisted until now.

Two years ago he was radically cured by cutting off dead branches that weighed him down and he began to sprout again with good vigor. Of course it is very huge and it climbs, aided by some pegs, on the house reaching the top of the west facade. If you want more details. let me know

Those photos reminded me that I had intended to put pictures of the cherry blossoms in full bloom in my last post with the Hückel you sold me.
No hat, but here are the blossoms on the hill up to my school.

Unfortunately, there’s rain forecast for tomorrow, so they might not last until the Entrance Ceremony at school.

That's a nice one. I did a conversion on a Caxton Western....

So I had been considering getting a little hand held garment steamer for Steaming my hats. Mainly I wanted it for ease of use over my method of boiling a pot of water on the stove and ever so slightly cocking the lid to the side to direct the steam. I had thought it worked fairly well… though I didn’t always achieve my desired results. Also there was the concern of hitting the burner with the hat or my hand! Well I finally broke down and decided to get one. My local store showed a $30 and $50 unit… and I had decided not enough difference in price that I’d go for the $50. Of course when I got to the store the $50 one was out of stock. Disappointed and not really wanting to go with the $30 unit instead noticed they also had a $16 one. I figured what the heck .. if it is terrible I can go with the $50 unit later on. Well much to my surprise this thing produced for more… and more effective steam that my boiling pot method. It directed it exactly where i wanted it and made shaping easy as pie!

Spiffed up the new Whippet and removed the remaininch wrinkles with ease.

Then I decided to have a go at my beat up windy weather whippet. This thing barely holds a shape. Whatever crease you put on the front always turned sideways. Steam or no steam. And the brim always was acting up. Didn’t have too much high hopes…. Welll……….

I’m think his was a fastback. We had several in my family of the last 30 years. My sister had I think a 64 1/2. I had a 67 convertible my brother had I think 65 and 68 over the years. All coups (beside the convertible). I really regretted getting rid of the convertible… but it was so rotted in the floor board it almost snapped in half when I was driving it on I-95… scared the crap out of me and I had no money to fix at the time. (Of course six months later a buddy was like.. oh man. I could have welded a cage right in there and saved it for you. Oh well)

That's cool, unfortunately a ton of mustangs suffered the same affliction as your convertible. It's crazy how many mustangs they produced back in the 60s though, it seems like everyone has a connection to a classic Mustang somehow. My dad had one when I was little and I always wanted one, I bought this one for cheap, think 3 or 4 different colors and lots of pieces in cardboard boxes, and built it up myself.

I can't help thinking of George Melly every time I see your posts.

Steve, did you hear me talking about you this evening? When that happens we Brits have an expression: "Were your ears burning?" Somebody at the 1920's inspired speakeasy that we attended, came out with the: "You look like George Melly," remark. My reply was: "There's a fellow in Denmark who would agree with that."

Could it be the hat, or maybe it was the zoot suit, there again the shoes get lots of comments too. My theory is it's that beautiful redhead on my arm, (George rather liked redheads,) what ever. Here's the gig, and my George Melly outfit.
