I like them both, but the Knapp is the easy winner.
Agreed

Nice looking OR, Joe. Stetson Whippets get most of us drooling, but I'll always be a big fan of the Open Road in all its forms and glory.
Fantastic shape and taupé felt, Daniele. Once again, it shows that Borsalino weren't the only Italian hat makers who knew their craft.Super Barbisio arrived last night between wind and rain.

Practically immaculate, it is one of the hats I most enjoyed buying with the new year.

The size is 59 cm. or 7 3/8 US is actually a bit tight.

As always with the Barbisio produced before 1980 there are small gems.

This has a felt with a light fur of a remarkable softness. It is called on the paper label "Taupé", a French word meaning "long-haired felt". The color is "Argento" a classic combo with a medium gray and black ribbon

Stetson black OR,
VS Bobby Blue,
Stetson Royal deluxe OR
I know you can’t see all the details of the hats in some of these photos, but I liked the way they came out.
Looking great, everyone!
Very nice OR! It appears to be a similar vintage to mine. I haven't been able to rock the cattleman crease though, I think it looks weird on me.
Fabulous line up JeffHere are some from the last several days.

Thank you Steve. This one is quite nice…. Had been at the top of the heap among my hats of this style… along with my Borsalino Ludoita until my 7XCB arrived. it is still quite minty for It’s age.Nice looking OR, Joe. My guess is late 50s early 60s. Cattleman’s is not my preferred crease either. This one though was just so clean I could help but keep it original.Very nice OR! It appears to be a similar vintage to mine. I haven't been able to rock the cattleman crease though, I think it looks weird on me.
Joe and @StoryPNW, that's the beauty of hats. You can have more of one and the same, but put different creases and pinches in them.My guess is late 50s early 60s. Cattleman’s is not my preferred crease either. This one though was just so clean I could help but keep it original.
i think you are correct Steve. And then there is my wife’s point of view… who thinks all of my hats look the same… except for the ones she does not like. Those she remembersJoe and @StoryPNW, that's the beauty of hats. You can have more of one and the same, but put different creases and pinches in them.
Surely, that's why we keep gathering

As if the hat wasn't enough, Steve. The case looks as well looked after as the Bowler. Two great finds.P. & C. Habig Wien "Spezial Qualität" possibly 1932. I found this Stiff Felt back in 2010 and it's in NOS condition.
It came with a Case and Habig Hüte - Wilhelm Slama Salzburg Hat Holder. P. & C. Habig Wien made the Stiff Felt for Wilhelm Slama Salzburg, Zum Edelwiess, Alter Markt 8.
Jim og @StoryPNW, just go for it guys.I hear you, brother!
Someday I will try it again, I like the way I have mine bashed right now. Maybe I'll have to get another OR in a different color and leave that cattleman's crease in that one.Jim og @StoryPNW, just go for it guys.
If it can work for me in Hamlet's Elsinore, Denmark, it can work for you
