Out splicing fiber optic cables at work today, the return of cool weather means that my Akubra Stockman gets worn pretty much every day.

You look something out of film noir. Etsuko looks like a Marvel super hero with those colourful lights coming out of her back.

Ha! Her special power is a super-speed mouth!

Echter Rockel Velour possibly later 1920s. This hat arrived over the Summer after being sent by mistake to China.

French again but in long hair finish this time. Unknown maker but similar size tag Fletchet used

Wool or wool mixture, so not real velour nice sheen, though quite rough hand. Double bow, old style wind-cord

Textured and laced sweatband

the "English" is a great example how wonderful black hats can be...

Thanks Steve, I appreciate it! Initially I thought as such too, but there are some elements that might suggest otherwise... There were a couple of comments on that in the French makers thread, just recently.

Man, that’s a pretty hat, Panos. I like the portions of 1940s hat best, but there is something so compelling about these older hats.

Very nice, Alan. I’m bummed that I missed out on the old version black Cherry.

Yeah, that’s a shame. For many reasons this is about my favorite fedora. The color catches different light in different ways, it’s pretty unique. It doesn’t usually look this red so I figured it needed a closeup.
