What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

View attachment 381341 View attachment 381342 I’ve been wearing hats indoors a lot these COVID and semi-lockdown days. Today was the day for a Stetson 1900 Paris long hair. It fits just right…even if I can’t get the dark color to show well on my iPad.

Anyone else wearing hats indoors? ;)

No, but if I had that hat I would wear it indoors and, every thirty minutes or so, I would take it off to make sure that the immaculate sweatband had no sweat on it. "Is it OK? Oh, it's ... good. So good."

JD; Not deliberately. Getting busy I will just forget I am wearing a hat. When I am inspired and doing "stuff" outside I will be inside, inside the storage shed, back outside, inside the boathouse, back outside, work a while and then come inside - frequently I will realize I have left my hat on. Not a deliberate choice, I just forget it is on top of head. Deliberately I will wear a hat while I am cleaning/storing hats.

This morning's dog soirre was chilly. I too am joining the recent Borsolino hat parade. My Borsolino thin ribbon is an olive green hue.

Not the Golden Age for Stetson. Felt is somewhere between Royal and 4X with extra pouncing. Pressed "weave" on the band and that leather cardboard sweat.
Tapered crown, typical of the time and before a reform from a lounger. Neither vintage or sovereign in quality BUT it keeps the rain off the noodle and sun out of my eyes. Hatco serves its purpose in at least keeping the label alive.

Borsalino produced millions of hats in all possible and imaginable shapes, this in the golden age of hats.
Every so often I find oddities on the Italian market and this is one.
BB 5.jpg

I have never had a great passion for bowler hats and I have had very beautiful ones that have found a new owner more respectful of their status, but when I saw this Borsalino, so atypical, I bought it.
BB 4.jpg
It is not a bowler hat because the crown is soft enough, but not as rigid as in a classic one, not conformable because it is made to keep the "bowler" shape. It does not have curled brims, but these too are edged in the same color as the ribbon.
BB 3b.jpg
It is not even a Homburg because the crown is not malleable and the brims are flat.
I think it's a made-to-order ceremonial hat from someone who liked this hybrid shape.
BB 1.jpg
Here it is worn right out of the box. It arrived with the brims a little out of place and very dusty even though it is new from stock. One of these days the "official" photos.

The size is 59 cm. or 7 3/8 Us. For those who love the "oddities" of Borsalino

My vintage Stylemaster earlier in the day, but I forgot to get photos. Indian food for dinner in my Brummel’s homburg.

Etsuko wore another Maxim.

Sorry, Stefan @steur, I forgot to get food pictures, too. But I am enjoying the Homburg.

Super photos Gary despite the lack of food ones :)

You look something out of film noir. Etsuko looks like a Marvel super hero with those colourful lights coming out of her back.
