That's a great hat. Looks very nice with your outfit.
Lovely VS Rumad.View attachment 306601 View attachment 306602 I wore my trusty old VS dark moss out to drive the wife to work (late start). Giant snow piles all around from about 17-18 inches of snow. The roads would be tolerable if not for most of my “neighbors” shoveling their cars/driveways back onto them. Makes me glad I put 35 inch tires on my truck. Everybody have a great day and be safe out there, wherever you are. Now, back to my sourdough....
Thanks Perry. It was my first. If not for the dimensional brim I would wear it much more often. That's a great hat. Looks very nice with your outfit.

Mallory The Dallas
Silvermist felt
3/8 silver grosgrain ribbon
4 3/4 crown to peak as shaped
2 1/2 brim with 3/16 matching grosgrain binding
92 grams
The 9th and final entry from the Mystery Box Nine is one that stood out to me right out of the box. Mallory The Dallas is a hat I’ve had my eye on for quite a bit but hadn’t found the right hat or deal. The Dallas appears to be Mallory’s take on the Stetson Stratoliner and wow did they get this one right. Most of The Dallas I’ve come across have been in a warmer Silverbelly felt... this one is in a colder light Silvermist coloring with silver grosgrain thin ribbon and binding. Though it is not indicated by name this Mallory is also an unlined lightweight felt coming in at the exact same 92 grams as the Champ Featherweight.. or apparently 2 1/2 packs of cigarettes... if that is the standard. The only blemishes are a handful of unfortunate moth nibbles on the brim and side of the crown right over the ribbon. Though not too significant... they are fairly visible on this color of felt. The previous owner had a few strips of paper towels under the sweat which have this 7 1/8 fitting perfectly for me.
It has been a lot of fun revealing the Mystery Box 9. Some real gems in this bunch. I believe the final three and hat number 1.. the Black Playboy all can make their case to claim the top spot.

Thanks. The hat came bashed from Art. I gave him a drawing of how I am wanted ribbon treatment. Turned out fantastic. Looked even better new. The grey that matches the hat was originally a royal blue. It sun faded to that grey. Still looks good though.I really like the ribbon on that one, Johnny. Great bash, too.

I was happy to turn it up again. I used to wear this one quite a lot, not sure why it has fallen out of favor.Glad to see you found it, Michael. It deserves to be worn and that might be the right kind of weather for it.
Thanks Stefan. I see you have another batch of great additions to Italian week. Stellar.Good looking Knox, Michael.
I like that color combo, Alan. How is the sourdough going? I've been trying to master Lithuanian Dark Rye sourdough. Not quite there yet, though the last attempt is completely edible.View attachment 306601 View attachment 306602 I wore my trusty old VS dark moss out to drive the wife to work (late start). Thanks Michael, I love the colors too. The bread is good. Finished my stretch and folds, and is now on the counter for a 4 hour bulk ferment. Then I’ll preshape it and pop it in the fridge overnight for a long nap. I just made a dark rye sourdough last week, not Lithuanian that I’m aware of lol, but it came out good. This loaf is 80% hydrated and 75/25% white/whole wheat.I was happy to turn it up again. I used to wear this one quite a lot, not sure why it has fallen out of favor.
