Wonderful looking felt, Steve. Amazing that the felt looks so pristine while the liner and sweatband were just gone.
Stefan, Thank you! It's possible Optimo Chicago cleaned the Velour. From what I can remember I was told that it was also hacked up by I milliner.

Wonderful hat, Steve. The grey in the felt adds visual interest.
Stefan, Thanks again! I agree. This was one of those surprise finds (much better than I thought it would be) from what I can remember.

Your Italian Series over the weekend was fantastic. Great to see the French Interlude. They are both similar Form (Shape, Dimensions) and I assume time period. Especially like seeing the Flechet Velour.

Thank you, Steve. The French ones are a nice change.

Love this Portis and the outfit Michael!
Thanks Panos. I'm liking today's combo quite well. I'd only worn this jacket a couple of times, but I'm liking more every time I get it out.

Thank you, Michael. It knows it too!

It just could be that I still don't have a velour homburg. Looking at that one that is something to be corrected. Very cool, Michael.
That is hard to believe, Stefan. Perhaps the all knowing misto can point you towards one?

Truth is that I just needed something warm to get out and throw the trash (-8c)...

..but there is a dress code policy around here, I hope Humphrey approves ;) View attachment 304057 Huckel Prima pre-war velour. It can take any crease but it kind of prefers just deep centre crease and upbrim View attachment 304061 View attachment 304062
That is a superb hat, Panos. But if you wear that to take out the trash, what do you wear to do the dishes? A golden crown?

Intermission au Francais. Italian week is still going, but I had to try these on. For being French they were very easy going and accepted going from 55 to 56 without any protest.

I'm liking that Flechet velour a lot Stefan.

Great Portis Michael, live the ribbon treatment on this one!!

The Flecked Fur is very cool, Brent. Makes a great looking hat.

Thanks all,
Michael

Royal Stetson Playboy

Royal Stetson Playboy
Lightweight black felt
5 inch crown as shaped
3/4 inch grosgrain mid ribbon
2 1/8 raw edge brim

Of the nine mystery hats I had coming all I knew was that one of them was a Playboy. So why not start here. A super dusty black Royal Stetson Playboy. I think it cleaned up rather nicely though. Did not find a manufacturing tag under the sweat only the reorder tag... but I would guess this one about 1950s vintage. Correct me if I’m wrong there. There is no edge stitching on the 2 1/8 raw brim but the profile definitely has that Playboy look. What is next from the mystery box?
