Whatever it is: it's a stunning hat.I was outside doing chores this morning in a vintage Stetson Fifteen (Mode Edge).
While this hat is crisp and clean it has obviously seen wear over the years between its manufacturer and finding its way to my hat rack. Cleaning of the liner, over the years prior to my seeing the hat, has the colored print removed. However the impression of the print remains. The leather sweat shows wear, not age.
A quality piece of leather and care in stitching it to the felt have the sweat being able to see another many more decades of gentle use.
The hat tells only part of it's story. I like to imagine that the remaining story is colorful and full of adventure.
Best, Eric -
Nice hat and I second that motion to allow Bob Roberts back in!Brims up for Bob. Not to be contentious, but I respectfully believe that if so many valued members miss him, the administrators should consider lifting the ban. Forever is a long time. His contributions to the Lounge should count as well.
Knox Tom'N'Jerry today.

Thanks, Reggie.Yes, they do! Both hats are winners.
It's a piece of art, John. What break?Hey all!
A warm, sunny and far less smoky day here.
If I'm gonna break the rules by wearing straw in November, might as well break them in style.
Optimo Superfino. Cracked brim doesn't spoil the artistry that went into the weave.
Another funny thing about that brim...you don't notice it much at all if I don't show it in the pics!
Have a great day!
