Last minute shopping for supplies in crazy world. My new Enzo overcoat goes perfectly with my early 1950s Wilson Homburg from England. Wishing my FL friends and family a very Merry Christmas Eve. Hopefully you can join with family either in person or electronically. Next year's festivities will prove to be spectacular I'm sure.

German velour. Quite liking it as a brim up.

Merry Christmas everyone, hope you have a festive and safe holiday season. View attachment 294421
Excellent hat, Wayne. Merry Christmas!
That looks great and with your background, the picture could just as easily be from west Texas as from Japan!
It's hard to beat a black Resistol western.

Somehow you look more Texan with that hat than with a bowler, Randy, though that may not be historically accurate (the derby ruled I believe). Merry Christmas!
Dinner at our favourite Thai place provided me the opportunity to join in the stingy fun. This Christys’ Exclusive Kent Fur Felt Trilby in mink was my first fur felt hat. Hard to believe that it was only a year ago. I now have 10. View attachment 294440

I'm sure you'll be able to double that number the coming year, Gary. Merry Christmas and enjoy as much as these times allow.

At just under 1.5 inches, this is definitely the shortest brim Borsalino I have. Probably the shortest brim on any hat I have, too.

Happy StingyMas folks. Have a good one. View attachment 294451
A real stingy. You wear it well, Steve. Merry Christmas.

Cervo, Creazione Italiana, Gran Marca, I love the way that just rolls off the tongue. Made for the German market.

Beautiful Cervo, Rick. Merry Christmas.

Wearing a Dunlap Derby to deliver gifts to my kids and folks. I guess this is the year that my kids find out that Santa doesn’t bring the gifts on Christmas morning. :(

They're probably only wondering why their Santa is wearing a bowler (and such a nice one at that). Hope you feel better soon, Bob. Merry Christmas.

All great, but the GB Borsalino fu Lazzaro is superb.

Thank you, Michael.

A little fresh snow overnight, but no blizzard, thankfully.

Seems like a good day to stay inside and do a bit of cooking.

Stay warm, Michael. I have one of those sitting on the shelf for years waiting for a chance to wear it. Merry Christmas.

Out for an early morning dog walk on a damp rainy day. Stylemaster with a Pork pie crease was called on for duty.

Merry Christmas and be safe.

Looking good, Steven. Merry Christmas.

Gorgeous Dalton there, Max. And put on a shirt; it's Christmas for Pete's sake!:p Feliz Navidad.

On the Twelfth Day of StingyMas

Two of the most fuzzy and grinchy greenest stingies of them all.

With a no name “Hatters Guild” tyrolean with a Celtic like band. And an emerald green Borsalino Maloia both at hand.

And what happened, then? Well, in Stingyville they say – that the Stingy’s small brim grew three sizes that day. And then – the true meaning of BrimMas came through, and the Stingy found the strength of *ten* brims, plus two (or one Stetson Standard Quality)

Merry BrimMas to All and to All a Good Night!
Very enjoyable series, Joe; well done. That Stetson though...wow! Merry Christmas.
No hats in the frigid windy weather today.

I was out early and needed to change to warmer attire. Yesterday's blizzard brought some snow, the requisite wind and now cold temps. A wool Cordova Cap was a perfect head gear choice.

i-7ccVPxk-M.jpg

This morning I waited for the temps to rise, 9:00am, and then went back outside. Dog soirée, used the snowblower, shoveled walkways, filled bird-feeders, prepared the grill for a beef roast tomorrow, chopped ice around the boathouse foundation and helped the neighbors with some snow challenges. I am thankful for a fluffy, wool Cordova Cap.

The wind chill has us at some ridiculous temps. The actual temp is -3'f (-16'c). With a fleece collar and heavy wool and outside chores it is comfy when out of the wind.

Cheers, Eric -
That's a serious white Christmas, Eric. That awesome coat looks warm enough though, as do the caps. Merry Christmas.

Johnny
A bird and now a dog? All you need is a cat and a donkey for the town musicians of Bremen! Nice hat, Johnny. Merry Christmas.

Sometimes I really could kick my own arse. Arse is how we Brits pronounce ass. Ass is what The Holy Family travelled on when they fled to Egypt. But being Christmas and all that.
My wife has made me the most beautiful, cream, baggy trousers 1920's style. I've been searching and searching for a lid to finish off the look. There's straws a plenty, but Esther made me a magnificent straw, as seen here, so a straw I have.

What I want is a felt, but not any old felt, I want Fruno's Batsake Brothers by Gus Miller, that's what I want. It's got that, how the French say, Ooh-la-la! Santa, are you listening?

Santa is always listening, Robert. so who knows? Merry Christmas.

Thanks Stefan!
I'm not sure, since I haven't personally met any serial killers.
Or have I?...

Likewise, Joe. Looks very festive.

There was more to the story...as there usually is. I do miss Bob’s posts.
We all do. The undisputed king of the brim-up look. It would be in the Christmas spirit to welcome him back (if he'd even have an interest).

On this Day of StingyMas, I went for this Black Sheep Hat Works stingy, shown here in my very first photo post on the Lounge, April 2011.

Thanks, Stefan.
We happened upon this mask in Thailand about 15 years ago. The owners of the cafe (two sisters) also sold their crafts there. It looks like wood but is actually made of paper and is very light. Its nose got slightly squished on the journey to Japan, but not noticeably so.
I’m afraid my expression rarely approaches the same sense of peacefulness that the mask has.

Christmas hat number 3 of three and this (along with the Homburg I posted the other day) is the gem in my collection. Vintage Stetson Custom V.

I feel like a bit of a wuss having seen Michael’s snowy post and Eric in sub zero temperatures, but it felt damn cold to me today.

Also, while I have your attention, does anyone know about Anthony Peto hats?...I’ve got about 20 minutes to decide whether or not to bid on one. There’s not much I can see on the lounge, but what I have found discourages me somewhat.

Outstanding hat, Greg. I wonder if the little tufts on the ribbon ends were done on purpose.

Thank you, Stefan. I have six or seven hats with these type ribbons from the shoe string single ply to a six ply which is actually two three ply ribbons stacked together. With one exception they all have the “tufts” on the ends. The single exception is my Portis western which has a five ply ribbon that was made into a traditional type bow with a tie and no exposed ends on the ribbon.
