A day we’ve been waiting for for over a decade. LOL.Multiple likes! One for the Smartlee, and 10 for the defeat of the Patriots by the Dolphins!!!
Thanks Joe!Thanks a sharp Lee
Thanks!Smokin’
Nice catch, Steve. Classic colours and proportions. I think I'd be inclined to make the squarish looking brim shape more rounded myself, but it does offer some variation this way.
Nothing wrong with black hats; they deserve more love here. I like that Mossant did a lot of their hats unlined.
Fantastic work as always, Terry. Nice contrast between ribbon and brim binding. Beautiful hat.
If the black hats are a theme, I'm all for it, John. That Lee is another winner!
Black hole velour goodness, Steve. The liner is epic.
That black Lee you wore yesterday was a fine looking fedora, John, and this Marathon looks fantastic! Especially for its age! Thanks Stefan!
The black hat thing wasn't meant to bd a theme, but hey! Here's another!
This J. C. Penney's Marathon Genuine Velour with it's up-brim overwelt and unique bow is from the Twenties.

But I bet a hunderd bucks if you sent it to Eric’s or Alan’s house for a week it’d magically end up in mint condition!!
View attachment 293357 My small Church got canceled this week as the pastor and one of the deacons contracted corona.
So I just walked outside in the nasty weather long enough to strike this pose in my new Stephen L. Stetson conversion. It was a hat that would soon land in a landfill, but got a new lease in life instead. New ribbon and lots of work to be able to reuse the original sweat, but well worth it. View attachment 293359
That Penny’s has a great lookThanks Stefan!

Not really a stingy brim, but it was the best I could do today. Thanks for all of the likes and kind words. Have a great week.
Thanks, ET!Glad you could save it. Looks good.
Thanks Randall!
While your theory might have merit, there is one big problem. The special variant of the Pimm Particle that Alan and Eric developed to restore hats at the molecular level also shrinks them down to their sizes.
Dang evil scientists...
Good afternoon. I have never had anything against black hats; as a matter of fact, I have a number of them, but I usually wear them on formal occasions and funerals. It just so happened that I lucked up while I was cruising through one of my local hat shops a couple of months ago, and the proprietor made a deal that I couldn't pass up. I like the look and feel of this one, and its shape goes along with my more recent casual lifestyle as a result of the pandemic. I have been wearing this hat all weekend.

I have the Stetson Bogie in phantom grey. Would like it in a darker color, but not pitch black. Is your a full back color, or more like dark charcoal grey? Hard to tell from pictures...Thank you, e@An early 40s Marathon (Original cost: $4.96). Ah, that nip in the air.
Hope everyone is doing well!

Welcome, E A. The Stetson Bogie is definitely a black hat. From what I remember, they made them in black, phantom gray, and tobacco brown. Good luck with your search, and let me know what you find.I have the Stetson Bogie in phantom grey. Would like it in a darker color, but not pitch black. It is green and is one of the latest purchases, so the series of greens continues before Christmas.

Barbisio Classic size 59 cm. or 7 3/8 US.

The color of the felt is "Soana" The valley which lies below the Gran Paradiso, north-west of Sagliano Micca, the place of production of the company founded by the Barbisio family in 1862.
View attachment 291448 The felt is of medium consistency and can be easily modeled without the use of steam.
The shape and styling is the one in vogue in the Fifties when they looked for alternatives to the classic hat in Italian production, even if this had already been done before World War II.

The finishes, as always in historical Barbisio, are of the highest quality

I want to thank all those who expressed their appreciation yesterday and today for the French and Italian hats I showed. Have a nice Sunday
