That snow is keeping it cool here for sure. And a warm hat or cap is a very good thing. I've been getting in some time under one of each lately. That is one very warm looking Biltmore Velour, Michael. Looks like you need it in that snow.
Very variable day, rain in the morning, then pale sun, now gray clouds, you know it's winter.

Have a good day,

Daniele, that hat just has the “it factor.” So many small things done so well. Absolutely gorgeous hat!
It's a superb hat all the way, but, man, the colour of that ribbon is something else!Forty dollars and a feather. No mule.

Thank you, Joe.The Rocket is beautiful inside and out
It's a gorgeous hat and it looks great on you.View attachment 289601
Just brought this one home. Usually I don't go for the shorter brims/dress. I tend to lean more towards westerns. However, I had to have a piece of history from the Chestnut St. Store. Also came with a tall oval box with the double inserts. I think with the right attire, I can warm up to this one.
From 6 7/8 to 7 3/8? You must have an adjustible head, Joe! It does allow you to get more or less any hat you want. The second day of StingyMas continues
These two hats may be stingy of brim at 2 inches each.... but they are a bit too generous in size for me at 7 3/8.

Totally different hat with that wider ribbon. I like it.
Well, they did make a model called "dracospo". That's close enough for me (I'm a dragon as well), but I don't own one.Well it was fortunate then that they happened to pick my sign. You don't happen to know if they made a Dragon model? That would be my sign in the Chinese Zodiac.
Still liking the look of that Rockel a lot.
Michael
I'd happily grab that hat any day of the week, Randy.Continuing the stingy brim week with my Not-o-liner sold at Joe Lynch in Milwaukee. It says Strat on the sweat, but a 2 inch brim and 1 3/4 ribbon don't seem to fit the standard specs. The liner has been removed and, all in all, it is a nice grab-n-go between seasons hat. This one is a Silver Belly but it has a lot of tan/sand tint in it.

Welcome to the lounge, Abram. That Marathon is a fine entrance to this forum.I’m new here just picked up this beautiful 40’s penny’s marathon in tan. Love this thing. Started collecting about two years ago.
Normal "stingy" rules don't apply to homburgs, Ross. They're raised better than thatMy only stingy, Standard Quality that I like to wear with a shallow center dent or open crown.

Today...out to mail a hat to a jacket guy (future convert). Started him off right, to be sure.
Black cherry.
Be well and safe.

You've been ahead of the curve with your stingy brimmed hats, Mike! Your "embrace the stingy" is taking root!On the third day of Stingymas, my true love said to me..."do you really need another hat!" Of course Santa, I always do. This early 1960s Cavanagh 30 has been in my stable for a while, one of my favorites. If there ever was a poster child for the Stingy Brigade, this hat fits the bill. Incredible felt, Cav edge (of course, they invented it) and a rich dark chocolate color. This style from the early 1960s was all the style, a favorite of Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack.

Fantastic hats, Eric. The Knox is great, but I'm a sucker for a great homburg. They did a St. Regis in Royal as well. Under license I've seen homburgs in Royal, Imperial, 4x Beaver and Royal De Luxe. The pic is from an American made one.Ran to the hardware store for my neighbor. She needed some stuff and water softener salt. A Stetson Royal DeLuxe St.Regis was my hat choice for the essential errand.
Putting the hat on a block to dry I have been pondering if Stetson made Homburgs that were not Royal Deluxe? This is the only version I have acquired. Hmm. A question to look through the forum archives for answers.
Cheers, Eric -
It has found a good home, Randy and, nice as it is, I think I still got the better side of the trade with that magnificent Churchill 50 you found me!My next offering to stingy week, a Borsalino Qualita Suprema with 2 1/4 brim bound on the underside only - very interesting, indeed. The felt is very soft and, for a lined hat, this is a very light hat. Two comments must be made; first, I picked this one up from my good friend Stefan @steur many months ago and I have not posted it before now nor have i have thanked him properly for such a wonderful hat. Thank you, Stefan. Second, these pictures do not do the felt color justice. I kept waiting for the correct lighting but could never get it just right. The major color is blue/grey but it also carries a lavendar/light purple tint that makes it stand apart from other light grey felts. One of these days I'll put several of my greys together for a picture to try to capture the color that makes this one special.

Keep them coming, Mike. Can't go wrong with a mirtillo. On the fourth day of Stingymas, I chose one of my European slim brims. This Borsalino has all the classic lines of a true stingy. The color is Mirtillo (Blueberry) and the felt it just crazy nice on this one. This is one of my favorite early 1960s style hats.
