F. Witzleben Leipzig possibly 1920s. There is no company mark on the paper label but probably sourced. I found this hat back in 2013.

Thanks Joe. I feel fortunate to have acquired a few of that rare find of new old stock in my hat size. Truly amazing that these unworn hats have survived intact. Glorious examples of hat making in the 30's in Canada.

I have been prepping them for some hat care this weekend. A couple of the ribbons got a bit wonky from shipping and I am going to steam and brush them all. I have only worn a few and look forward to adding them to the hats I can wear daily.

P. & C. Habig Wien "Export Spezial Qualität" production year 1953. P. & C. Habig Wien were probably the gold standard for post WWII Black Homburgs in Germany and Austria. An interesting tidbit regarding P. & C. Habig Wien Hats was they rarely had Sweatband Bows.

Specially made for Carl Kellner Hamburg.

When I visited the Gotisches Haus (Gothic House) Hat Museum, Bad Homburg back in 2016 I persuaded the museum to remove Konrad Adenauer's (first Chancellor of West Germany) Black Homburg Hat (it was his signature) from the display case. I discovered that he wore a P. & C. Habig Wien Homburg and not a German made Homburg. The museum thought the Hat store "Hellings Bonn" was the maker. As you can see Adenauer wore his (well worn) Black Homburg Hat without side dents.

His initials "Dr. K. A." on the sweatband.
