What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

My hat pics today show a sliver of the sky behind me with what looks like fog or clouds. It's actually smoke from a big fire burning a couple hundred miles away in or near Paradise, CA, which was evacuated a few hours back. The prevailing wind pattern is different than usual for this time of year so the smoke is blowing our way. Here's pics of the now much heavier smoke line, which looks like it's just a few streets over. First is looking almost straight up.

I hope everyone got out of the path of the fire safely.

I was relieved to see "nothing but straw" was just a figure of speech.... and there was more clothing than that involved.

I get my kicks above the waistline, sunshine.

A Cordova Cap was just the ticket this morning for light snow removal chores.

Later I wore a Gannon (navy blue beaver with charcoal trimmings) fedora while moving fallen limbs to the wood pile and filling the feeders.

You can always tell when straw season is truly over by looking at the snow drifts on Eric's wonderful hats. Who needs Stonehenge!
