I’m mostly on safari so I haven’t seen that one. But all of a sudden just now I See when I press Like.... are you SURE you want to like this? YES.. I’m sure... it’s one of Alan’s incredible hats!ps... has anyone else found that the >insert photo URL< (the landscape icon) button no longer works from Google Chrome? It does seem to function normally from Safari.
Great hat, love the sweater too, Eric.Dog soirée in the dark this morning. I took no pics in the cold pitch dark morning.
Home this later, 9:00am, morning I can see the sun! Wow the sun! Shortly ago I went out to fill the bird feeders. An un-lined 30-40's Borsalino was my hat choice.
Cheers, Eric -
Thanks for the appreciation and kind words
To complete the Barbisio Rex introduction in FL here there are some details
View attachment 274025
Complete interioi with white lining and a "new to me" Barbisio trade mark and hatt appellation

Details of the stamps on the sweatband
View attachment 274028
Paper label under the sweatband. As I said previously there is no date inside the sweatband, usual in the hats for the German market, only a little stamps in ink very difficult to decipher.
Buona giornata
A compadre to Eric's old Borsalino, this bombetta which lives the next phase of its life in the U.S. thanks to our generous friend Daniele.

Definitely do see issues with images from time to time between browsers. But it seems inconsistent. I checked your post one chrome was fine. But is was chrome on IOS so not sure if different on different OSThanks Joe and Steve. I am thrilled to have this hat and to wear it from time to time.
I haven't looked more into the browser issue... noticing the images don't display, I've just uploaded them in recent weeks rather than using the image link tool. Today, when I found the images display in Safari, I prepared my post in that browser and posted it without issues. But when I looked at the thread on Google chrome, the images do not display. I've seen some other oddities with content display using Chrome. I would have thought Safari to be the problem browser...

Thank you, Alan. It deserves to be let out of its cage more often. That self ribbon Stetson is a beautiful bird. <applause>
Thanks, Daniel! What a sweet blue Mac!
That Hales&Hunter is a nice find, Joe.Yet another dreary rainy day had me with this old friend Rossolino Milano

Thanks, Reggie. Some very fine American hatmaking on display on both of them. The MacLachlan is a heavy hitter. That's one powerful homburg and of course, the Dobbs is probably one of my all-time favorites.
And there you go! Nice catch, Dave. Cool colour. It looks like my wish came true tonight. This blue, 1960s Dobbs Gay Prince is on it's way to me. Sellers pics

Nice work, Jared. I'd say you came pretty damn close.Wow, don't recall seeing a blue Gay Prince, very cool score Dave!
I'm taking hat build #2 out for a spin, this one is based on Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue hat. I made it out of a nutria/rabbit blend body that I bought from Art Fawcett.
My friend says "that's an ostentatious hat band," the perfect reaction!
The gold medal is well deserved, Bill.
A stunner, Dave. I don't it gets much better than that one.Dobbs Twenty this morning.

The last of the hats bought a few weeks ago on my head, some a little bit tight to be wear and one is going on the other side of the world

A Borsalino made up by Charles Hatters, High Quality, size 60. The color is "Dattero" (date) and the finish of felt is defined as "Greggio" (raw)
View attachment 273178
Felt is firm enough for an Italian hat, but this was the "marketing shot" to make it look English. Felt is rough and thick in texture

Thanks for your appreciation of these days
My compliments to everyone for the fantastic hats seen here during this week
Oooh, I like that one. Gives off a cool thirties vibe. Nice!Stefan and Dave’s hats were giving me the blues.... had to do something about it.

There is blind stitching on the brim. I had originally thought it was decorative stitching on the guild edge. Which was something I had not seen before. Someone in another forum made a suggestion that the original Cavanagh edge had been trimmed. And then the hatter who did the modification had used to blind stitching to emulate a Cavanagh edge as best he could. If that is the case it is masterful work. This theory does make sense considering the short brim on a probably 1950s hat. ( based on manufacturing tag). Any thoughts on this.
I apologize if I am using the term blind stitching incorrectly. What I am referring is tiny stitches on the welt that do not go through the underside of the brim.

I am very pleased with this hat. I had forgotten how malleable and rich the felt feels for a modern production fedora. The hat is sturdy and comfortable. Stetson did a pretty good job with this one.

Wonderful hat, Wayne. Good get. The little swetband bow in blue is a neat touch.Things are warming up in the southern hemisphere. Nothing standard about the 30s Stetson Standard Quality - from Ivano's amazing Canadian stash find.

Beautiful. Excellent work!Just out in the yard doing chores, this lid is kinda new yet still old. It's not new, but it's never been worn much though I think that will change now.
Wife had a go at doing a new ribbon for my Silverbelly Campdraft, look at this ribbon, her first attempt and I think she rocked it in. I love the bigger kicks on the ribbon she did, she went from Grasshopper to Master in her first go

Thanks, Randy. I'm very grateful that Mark @M Hatman let that one go (like he did with some other American hats btw).I'm digging that Flagship!
Looks wonderful, Max. Hats to cherish. My latest Optimo Chicago Panama today, with the black ribbon. I count 625 WPI. I don't know how much it would cost directly from Optimo, but I bought my first one three years ago from them (pictures at the bottom, with the blue ribbon). It has 381 WPI, and the price was 2 thousand dollars.
I also think that the weave on the new one is straighter and more even.
I like the color in my first one more, because it is a little lighter.

A thousand mile journey begins with the first step...A Panizza for grocery shopping. My wife’s in my Country (Japanese brand) hat. She claimed it because I very seldom wear it nowadays. I like the colour and shape, but it’s cotton and having had a few years of wear, it’s kind of lost its shape a bit. That said, it was the hat that started me on this journey, so it does hold a somewhat special place in my collection.
I’ll be in kangaroo leather later on - chicken tikka coming up at the pit!
