View attachment 259665 A resurrected worn out Stetson panopore straw that used to sport a cattleman’s crease.
A year ago I posted a pic of a very well used and sweated up straw that I’ve worn to work for several summers and was in sad shape. I finally bought a new Stetson straw that is on its way to looking just as bad.
Wish I had before and after pics as y’all might more appreciate how it it looks tonight.
I removed the sweatband and old two cord ribbon, wet it and mashed it on my new hat block and flanger, let it dry, removed it and soaked it with hat stiffener. Then steam shaped the new crease and pinch and threw on an old pug.
It still shows the patina of years of hard labor, but looks much better and ready for more! View attachment 259666 View attachment 259668 View attachment 259667

Wearing my 40s Dobbs suede finish Stratoliner-like fedora today. I'm finally back in school today and back to my hat wearing ways. Tough to wear a hat around the house.

Adrian; Good to see your post. The Dobbs is a lovely start to the school year. Be safe sir.

If Adrian is out, it’s time for ALL of us to make an appearance!!

Everybody’s looking SPECTACULAR!!!

Charlie; School starts and you are back - Hmmmm. Glad to see your post Charlie. I hope your "quarantined" summer was enjoyable.

A Stetson One-hundred 100 playing a little music on the veranda.

Easy to make music in a One-hundred I suspect. Guitar always sounds better wearing a quality hat. Cheers!

New to me Strat straight out of the box. Takes a dry crease very well.

Out of the box works well! Congrats.

Your Canadian Stetson has a very special liner and accoutrements. You look sharp as usual. I looked for more specifics on "Aquanized," and best I could find was it was a sweat label for Canadian hats in the late 40'- early 50's. I will continue to look as I am curious as to the details of Aquanized.

40s Champ on a day that promises rain. Durn.
Excellent Champ sir. Gills on a rainy day just go together like scales on a fish.

Thanks Stefan. Ive been on hiatus myself, for the most part.

Great set of hats. Love the Wormser and that Tasman Blue is a fantastic color.

What a difference a couple of days make. From 90 degrees to 55 degrees with added driving rain. Filson Tin Cloth Packer for today's bike ride.

Usually it's my best hat for keeping fine rain off of my glasses. Wasn't up to the task in today's rain. Did keep my head dry and toasty in any case.

Have a good evening,

Thanks, Michael. I'll be posting the full report on the Battersby in a moment.

Hey all!
This Mossant on a hazy, smoke darkened day.

Have a great day!
The quality of the hat will be visible thorugh any haze, John.

Nice bit of shade under that hat! The horse still manages to find the camera; attention seeker;)

Very nice, Randall.

Hello from the planet Mars

The Bay Area woke up to a gloomy orange sky today, it actually got darker from when I woke up. Though as bad as it looks, apparently the air quality is slightly less bad today. My custom build for another day out in the apocalypse.
If the apocalypse comes along you might as well wear a great hat for the occasion, Jared.

Wow. Definitely looks other worldly. We had something similar a few weeks back But for a less ominous reason... I think it was that dust cloud that floated across the Atlantic. Hat looks great Jared.
