Hahaha!
I meant the way he died in the book, not in real life. At the end of the third and last book in the series, "Le Vicomte de Bragelonne", in the siege of Maastrich, a bullet from the castle strikes the wooden case carrying his Marshall of France baton and kills him.
His last words are: "Athos and Porthos, I will see you soon. Aramis, goodbye forever."
I have read all the books several times, and reread passages of them often. I don't really like Dumas' other books much, though.
Like the hat and the smoke. What’s the temp out there in West Texas? It’s hotter than Hell here in the Hill Country.View attachment 249276 Grillin in a Fed IV
Beautiful hat! It can’t get any better than an OR.
Good looking hat Brent... though I think my stomach might be in knots if I saw it coming up from the rear view mirror. The stache is coming along nicely.Fishing the East Walker River...unexpected downpour made me grateful for my choice of hat: Stratton Lawman Milan.

Soaked to the skin above my waders, but the Stratton shrugged it off like a champ.
I really dig that one Brent. Great color combo, and suits you just right.Fishing the East Walker River...unexpected downpour made me grateful for my choice of hat: Stratton Lawman Milan.

Cool. What sort of old tourer do you have? Since I was more or less born and raised on gravel riding I like the idea. Don't know if I have the strength for it anymore.Nice Michael! I like these old tourers. I need to convert mine into a gravel bike. Nice cap/mask combo as well.
Thanks Alan. The mask is one I made the other day. I finally got around to looking up the date code on the bike and it was made in 1993. I found the old catalog for that year too. Seems it was a custom order job as most of the components match the T1000 spec rather than the T700. Sadly it was missing the original Brooks saddle. I did a little more cleaning on it this morning and listing out the components to compare with the catalog. And was wearing this old Ranchcraft while I was doing that.Nice Michael. That’s a cool mask, love the Cannondale. Mine is a ‘97 M-300 that I bought in’97. Stay cool.
Thanks again, M!YES for sure I will like this one again!!!! Good save!!!!
Thanks, Steve and @Rumad !That's a beauty, Randall. As usual, great job buddy!

I like the build on your “modern” Cannondale.

Haha... guilty or not blue lights in your rear view make your heart skip a beat. LOLOnly the guilty have need to fear...something you want to tell us?
That looks like a very cool bike, Bob. Hope the build goes well.1985 Schwinn Voyageur SP. Factory spec except for pedals, Brooks saddle, and Bruce Gordon racks.
