Very nice, Michael. There is something about Knox hats I find very appealing.

Trying to figure out how that bow keeper was done has my mind into meltdown!

Another Knox and another Westlite! Super hat, Robert.
Thanks Stefan. They did build a nice hat. I like the shape of this one a lot after my refurb.

Dang, that Failsworth is a beauty.

30 Days to 30 Hats - Day 11
Rosollino Milano - Beaver Blend

158A819F-6ECB-46B5-903C-ABFB35C6F81F.jpeg

Day 11 in honor of our Italian friend and fellow lounge member @Daniele Tanto continuing his national quarantine in Italy.. I present this Rosollino Milano in velvety grey beaver blend felt with multi hues corded hat band. I do not know if this brand is actually of Italian origin but it is clear to me they were modeling their brand in a style similar to Borsalino. This particular hat was sold in Nelson’s Men’s Wear in Quincy, Illinois. Sure I could have chosen a Borsalino for today... but I just felt this one calling me. Much in the way Daniele shares his love of hats with us. This hat is one that I always come back to. Is it the finest of hats... no. Is it in perfect shape.. no. Is it a sought after brand.. no. But it suits me fine.. is especially comfortable and I love it’s character. It is for whatever reason a hat that garners good reaction when I wear it. And THAT is definitely a measure of a good hat.

Silverbelly Akubra Campfraft outdoors getting very sweaty, very dirty. One of the jobs I bought it for. Got the whole garden raked out and turned over. Planted potatoes, pumpkins, aji dulce peppers, purple tiger peppers and a row of basil. It’s a good start. It felt good to do something normal.

Great job.. great hat. Love your wall Alan.
Thanks Joe. It’s my mother in laws place. Absolutely gorgeous property. She’s let me garden there for many years. The wall is very cool, lots of stonework all over the property, it’s very tall from the outside. I’m sure I’ll get more pics as time allows. It really was great to be working outdoors again!

I love the texture and the ununiform uniformity to old stonework like that. Beautiful. Working with the earth.. be it gardening or whatever makes you feel good for sure.

The weather was cruddy today and I didn't manage to get a photo. So I decided to continue wearing my hat when I got home. With this Daks cheesecutter, I have now posted all of my autumn/winter hats except a couple of nondescript beanies. I have serious hat envy for those posting 30 hats in 30 days! My wife wore her Goorin Bros.
This is me relaxing with a couple of my favourite books. The chair is my pride and joy. It's nearly impossible to sit on this chair without falling asleep! The stool (which we use as a table) is made from whiskey casks.
