Very nice. Great looking sweater too.
Thanks sir. This particular sweater was a gift from my late father. It is special.
Best this evening, Eric-

The colours and the style of this one just work so well. Gorgeous hat, Brent.Phoenix:

Was it flying or was it falling with style? Either way: the stratoliner look good, Jim.116 years ago today, two preacher's boys from Funkytown proved that man could fly.
So naturally, a Stratoliner.

This one is more from the 120 era35 millimeter?
Who would dare to say they don't love this black hat?An older hat, pre-1920 and perhaps early 20th century. Old 13 Star mark that I've seen in print but don't remember seeing in another hat. Fray logo sideways, lovely silver foil store imprint, off-center reed ferule and older style scalloped size sticker are all markers of age. I've owned a couple of Stetsons from this era. The felt, likely hare, is notable for its character - thin, dense and moldable in the manner we've come to love in a post-war clear beaver quality hat but here in a hat of modest price. The Stetson standard was good stuff.

There seems to be a large portion of the lounge membership that has an affinity with photography, either professional or amateur. Maybe because we have an eye for what looks goodLOL, good one. Being a camera guy myself I'm interested if there is a connection. I'll have to do some research.....
Thanks, Michael. That is one lovely hat, Stefan.
Thanks Jim. Great Stratoliner you have on today.
Thanks Stefan.
Thanks Steve. The jacket is a London made Alexandre in a heavy Melton wool. The color wheel said that color combo should work, so I'm glad to hear you liked it.
Thanks all,
Michael

Seems like Leica had their hands in everything. I just love this finish and the contrast of that ribbon treatment. Good to see you.
The finish on this one is superb Daniele. Love the name of that color combo!Gray days with snow and rain, but on the other hand it is winter and this holds for us

Molte grazie per i vostri apprezzamenti della scorsa settimana
Keep showing me your hats that you will have all my appreciation
The definition of a perfect 50s hat Eric. These NOS finds are so wonderful. Makes you feel like walking out of the hat store in 1955 with a spiffy new one.I wore a hat picked up in 2012 from the Johnny Phi treasure trove of hats (from the closed Hirsch Men's Shop). This Lee Adventure defines mint condition.
Great light gray felt that is surprisingly malleable. An excellent hat for a reasonable retail price.
Best, Eric -
I like the colors on this one Brent. The color matching brim binding with the nice contrasting ribbon. Impressive.Phoenix:

Nothing more classic than a nice Cav, Stefan. But my appetite is for the Sfinge..."an airy and very light doughnut made with a sticky, almost batter-like yeasted dough that fries up like an Italian zeppole." So YUMMY!
Wonderful crown Perry! Love that tie and shirt too. You are always so dapper!

That is beautiful! I like seeing the heathers, and the colors in that one are very nice. I also like the finish.A ray of sunshine just the time to give light to a modern Borsalino.
Thus we begin the series of Italian heather felts

The hat comes from the rich source of Merano, or the remainder of the "M. Hutter" hats shop

I would like to spend a few words on modern Borsalino, this is one, considered that there is no color name, much less the type of hat. This is a magnificent hat and was made in the 2000s
View attachment 201333 Yes, I know they are rare and much of the production has been average and even mediocre, but with a wise choice it is still possible to have excellent products from Alessandria

Having said that, I thank you for your appreciation and likes.
Good day to all and congratulations for the variety and quality of your hats, seen on FL
Off to have my eyes examined this morning. Can't see crap anymore. I have to lean into my computer screen to appreciate the beautiful hats, makes my neck hurt. Wearing a trusty NW Hats custom, my granite Whippet Clone with a wool overcoat. Very cold and foggy this morning, pictures from yesterday afternoon (planning ahead) View attachment 201328 View attachment 201329 .

No doubt the Borsalino people still know how to make a great hat. This wild haired heather is a fine example. Let's hope they choose to do so more often.A ray of sunshine just the time to give light to a modern Borsalino.
