Good to see your hats and pins my friend. Love the pecan felt.

Perfect holiday postcard photo! I just need to talk my wife into wearing a hat for one like this. Of course, she runs from any camera that enters a room.

Wonderful texture on that felt Daniele. Your photos always make my day.

Nice liner logo. Nice looking lid for the day.
Thanks Red!!!

Donned the Champ featherweight for a quick run before I switch to one of the beaters for dusty/dirty work.

Something is up with Tapatalk on this phone.
My SIM card is in another phone because this one has a shattered screen. Now this one, with the better camera, has to connect WI-fi. For some reason I now get a choice of size based on resolution, which is fine, but it also rotates my shots .... which isn't fine at all.

For the dirty work I chose this bowler conversion I started long ago, but put on hold after realizing how many tools and skills I still needed to get in place.
It started as a thrift store, no name, stingy, with a ribbon sweat, and overwelt brim.
I put the sweat from my old Scala beater in, popped the crown and experimented with shellac on it, then ripped the overwelt threads, giving me the start of the curl I want after binding.
I had no bowlers when I started, then shelved it after accumulating some (that showed up on the porch), but still have plans to finish this up as part of my learning process.
Today it will keep my bald head dust free.

Yesterday. Just returning from a second funeral inside of a week. My wife's brother passed away two weeks ago this past Monday and one week later we attended his funeral the following Monday. My wife's sister who was also sick attended his funeral against the advice of my wife who was going to take her to the hospital the following day. She didn't make it. On the very day of my wife's brother's funeral, she passed away as well. They were all meeting at her Mother's house after her brother's funeral. Her sister was no sooner helped through the front door when she passed away right there in the living room. The medics coded her and she never revived. To make matters worse, no doctor at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio wanted to sign her death certificate. She lay dead in the hospital for four days until a few phone calls were made and the death certificate was finally signed. So, it's been a wild two weeks around here.

Anyway, I'm all dressed up and wearing one of my own conversions, Grey Resistol Stagecoach....

May you and yours be filled with loving kindness, may you be well.

Wet grey day View attachment 200034
Morreton (French made) "Mixo" size is 59 cm or 7 3/8 US
View attachment 200035
With this Morreton the saga of "heather" felt continue
View attachment 200039
The color of this "mixed" felt varies according to the surrounding surfaces, the first two photos are the most truthful in showing the original color.
View attachment 200040
The paper label show the quality: "Mixo 09" the color is C359. The felt is more thick than the previous Morreton and it seems to have a little more percentage of wool

Thanks for the likes on the "heather" felt chapater
Have a nice Monday and compliments for the super hats you showed in the weekend!!!
What can I say? Something about a good heather that's hard to resist.

"In the lane, snow is glistening. A beautiful sight. We're happy tonight. Walking in a winter wonderland."

Winter wonderland this morning in my neighborhood. The wind chill has the "feels like" temp at 3'f or -16'c.

A Knox Westlite for a dog soiree. The snow and wind were blowing hard and the windcord was used.

I switched to a dry hat, Akubra CD for snow removal chores. The falling snow and the snow thrown up in the air by the snowblower had me covered in snow mist. Warming up during the effort found that snow particles coated my eyebrows this morning. Wiped off for a pic to share.

My outer attire needed to dry out after my exertions. Changed yet again, I headed out for groceries in a cap.
