Thank you, Douglas! Dinerman, you and Douglas, and Marc, should have some kind of contest for best in show of 'vintage-ultimate-in-good-taste'. I really think it would be a toss up! Nice lid, D-man, and as always, Douglas, too!

Greetings all! I'm so happy to have found a place where people love their hats as much as I do! So, I figure my first post, should be today's hat :)

My Robert Hall fur felt fedora. :) The nicest one I have, the rest of my hat's are wool (all 2 others :p), but I'm working on getting more.

You have nothing to be ashamed of. Wear your campaign hat when you're out and about. We're looking for a few good men: The Campaign Hat Corps.

Welcome to the Lounge, Vegasmike! Great hat and good look for you! Got wool, eh?

Thanks! And yes, most of mine are wool currently, but that gray one is actual fur, definately my nicest one at the moment.

Today? Well, it isn't fur felt, or wool felt, actually it's...100% polyester, O.G.106, vintage 1968, with 173d Airborne staff badge behind the jump wings. One of the remnants of a once extensive military hat collection and probably my favorite. ( I call it my "hat-of-victory-handed-away" ) I wear it for a lot of reasons, but I especially think of the chaplain on Hill 875, see this:http://www.virtualwall.org/dw/WattersCJ01a.htm Such men are few, too few.

Today I'm wearing my Grandfather's Open Road Silverbelly with a fedora bash. I don't have a picture to post, but it is in another thread.

Last night I had to do a repair to it. I opened my moth ball protected hat box earlier in the week and found a moth divot right in the front of the pinch! It was a doosey. I took some pictures of the repair process that I will post later. All in all it turned out very well. Most folks can't even see it.

Wow Dinerman, that's quite a hat.
