Really cool this morning at 43F. Took out the trash in shorts, a fleece shirt and my treasured Borsalino Savoy from @NewJack . Super, lightweight, maleable felt with a great hand and a Cavanagh edge second to none.

Nice Borsalino Doug, 43 degrees sounds pretty great as I sit here looking at 102 outside.

I get to SA every couple of months and I don't think I've ever seen anyone wearing one winter or summer. It's usually whatever I'm wearing and a lot of westerns. But I may not be in the right places.
But if you need an excuse to wear it, I'll swear they do.

Frankly, most parts of Texas I've been in, the straw Western is king. Pretty much every time I've been at the Garland outlet, the back of the store, where most Westerns and straws are located, are swarming with guys who "work for a living" looking for new lids.

I travel all around the state and what you say is true everywhere. Westerns outnumber "city" hats at least 100-1 and south of the panhandle, lots of people wear straw all year.

We went out the Columbia Gorge today, stopping at Crown House on the old Crown Point Hwy, then to Multnomah Falls. A nice day all around... still only 74F here. Sorry for you gents in the high heat and humidity.

I wore my custom steel Penman and Sandra wore her 50s Cavanagh.

I returned to work today after a week in Santa Fe with my wife, daughters, long-time friends and a new friend from the Fedora Lounge.

This is an oustanding looking Borsalino! I don’t know the Savoy but i do know i love the tone of the gray and the contrast of the ribbon. I most def agree about the edge as well. Borsa does em right!

Out and about this fine day before Independence Day. Wore my Art of Manliness K.B.O. ("Keep Buggering On" - Winston Churchill) tee shirt and Ecuadorian straw Panama all day. Crazy heat and humidity for us round here. Enjoyed a little cool of the evening with a nice refreshing Moscow Mule!

We stayed down below, but you could hike up to at least the 2nd bridge you see in the pic behind us. The old hwy 30 is closed after Bridal Veil, though, so you can't take it all the way to Multnomah Falls.
