I know what you mean about the football games. They have been really exciting! Who would have thought Germany would be last in its group? Or that both Mexico and South Corea would beat them?

The Melvin goes well with the summer suit look. Great shoes! Super sharp.
Thanks Red. I thought it was a good combo today.

Doctor appointment for me this morning. Got the wife all fixed up, now it is my turn I guess. Grabbed the Dobbs recent poly straw in a pretty blue. Not the best hat for high heat (not much ventilation), but this cool morning it worked well.

Nice color, Red. I don't find my poly Dobbs to be too hot. I think they must be poor heat conductors. But then mine if bright white, so that may have something to do with it too.

Great hat, suit and spectators, Mike!

It's starting to get sweat stained, as well it should be since it's become my favorite hot weather bicycling hat.

This Dalton is one of my oldest hats. These things are nigh impossible to date, but I have a completely speculative theory about the liner tip logos. The ones with "World's Finest," like this one and the blue Waverly, are pre WWII. They changed to "America's Finest" during the war, to capture the patriotic sentiment. It doesn't seem they were sold much, if at all, outside the States, though Steve (@mayserwegener) found a liner tip dye block in a European purchase of those things a couple years ago. We know the rights to the name were sold in 1953, and few later examples of this brand have been seen beyond that era (a few stingy late 50s-early 60s hats that don't appear to be from the original factory).

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
4 for 4 Daltons this week, very cool. I like your theory. It would mean one of mine is pre-war.

Hello to everyone, as you know or you know now summer is not the best season to wear hats :(

Panama Hats Direct patron with the middle line on the crown.

A very interesting panama for my taste and for my will not to spend a lot of money for a straw hat ;)

Summer is still fresh here, so I can stand it, but some heat is coming from North Africa and the weekend will be "boiled"

Have a nice day and I really can't mention every good hat I saw in the last week, so compliments to everyone!
Good to see you again Daniele, nice straw

I miss Italy in the World Cup. A World Cup without Italy is like a pizza without cheese.

Looking TERRIFIC Dan!!! I love that lid, my friend, but respectfully disagree about summer not being great for hat-wearing. That one is perfect protection from problems, according to the dermatologists!

Ciao! from Charlie!!
Ciao Charlie, yes I know the protection from the sun is a must during summer days, but you know I have not a great feeling with straw hats. Your "musician" hat is fantastic above all the shape

Great to see you Daniele! The brim on that fine panama should shield you from the Morocco heat!
Yes Red they will be my shield in the next days if the weatherman is right.
Have a nice day!

Ha Daniele, good too see you making an appearance during summer. Panama looks nice!
Sergej I have these rare appearances during summer because I use the same straw hats and they are few to show everyday or two, but some surprise will arrive soon :)

Good to see you again Daniele, nice straw
Thanks Richard.

Nice!

It was our faults to denied our partecipation to the World Cup. I did't see so much games during the these days, but now the interesting games start, so I will be more in front of the televesion.
You could make life difficult for today's Brazil, only if you are ordered, careful in defense and you do not want to play facing them on the same level. The counterattack is the best weapon and as Italian is our favorite sword to win even if someone twists his nose saying we are ugly ;)
