Good morning. The heat index will hits 100'f in Minnesota, USA today. Yuck to the heat in advance. I wore a Stetson Flagship on the early dog walk. Not much panting done by the dogs and myself. :)

The Flagship can be identified with it's unique edge treatment. The felt has the clay-like characteristics of the mid-weight 40's Stetsons. My hat does show have a Petersham ribbon treatment.

The hat is perched on a crown block waiting for the leather sweat to absorb some conditioner. In the meantime I am enjoying the up-close visual art it offers.

I echo what the early periodical advertisements for the Stetson flagship say - a "Great hat for Going Places."

Best today, Eric -

Ciao Charlie, yes I know the protection from the sun is a must during summer days, but you know I have not a great feeling with straw hats. Your "musician" hat is fantastic above all the shape

Yes Red they will be my shield in the next days if the weatherman is right.
Have a nice day!

Sergej I have these rare appearances during summer because I use the same straw hats and they are few to show everyday or two, but some surprise will arrive soon :)

Thanks Richard.

It was our faults to denied our partecipation to the World Cup. I did't see so much games during the these days, but now the interesting games start, so I will be more in front of the televesion.
You could make life difficult for today's Brazil, only if you are ordered, careful in defense and you do not want to play facing them on the same level. The counterattack is the best weapon and as Italian is our favorite sword to win even if someone twists his nose saying we are ugly ;)
The same way we beat Germany, yes. I was just saying yesterday the only way to win was to play like the Italians.

There is something so summer like with this kind of straw. With those pants...priceless.

As others are writing, the summer heat has arrived. Temps in the mid 90s today. Perfect weather for an unlined hat, no?

This hat, assumed to be pre-WWII, is a very light, thin, but dense felt. Easily shaped, it is one of my lightest summer hats. I forget exactly, but something like 2.5 oz.

Friday has arrived. Celebrate accordingly!

Nice looking Dobbs. There was one very similar to that here earlier in the spring. It was unfortunately too large for me. Now there is another vintage boater here, but it's too small. Someday again one that is just right will show up. Ha ha.

Thanks Red.

Incredible Eric.

Thanks sir. I do like the bold blue hued straw hat of late.

Trying to get errands completed in the "cool" of the 82'f morning. I have been sport'n an "Imported Visca Tropicool" hat for a trip to the grocery and liquor store. After the trip I am almost ready for some planned time to watch FIFA World Cup this weekend. I have friends coming over to watch France vs. Argentina in the morning. I am speaking for the gang of us when I say we do not have a passionate fav but rather it is an excuse to visit and cheer for our favorite team sports game. I have planned for some French wine, French bread and lots of topas/cheese to choose from. Additionally I have acquired 3 French and 3 Spanish dictionaries so we can immerse ourselves in the language of the participating countries.
