Today I have a meeting with a professor on campus. I will be a guest lecturer, speaking about Eugenics! Higher education in the United States promoted this "Science" during the early 20th Century. OSU fell in line and taught classes in Eugenics until the mid 1950s. I figured my Echter Borsalino in Dattero c1955 would be appropriate. Sorry for the archive photos, but I will be wearing the same outfit today...maybe with a new 1950s tie though.

The "French in grey" week. Today it is a Super Flechet de Luxe

It is part of a serie of grey hat made in France during the fifties

Lining is gold with the "fleur de lys" as brand under a crown and the Flechet logo

"Cambridge"! is the color of a very soft and dense felt

Proportions are of the forties and fifties european hats, very rounded

Matching ribbon with trimmed brim of the same color

Love this hat. Knowing the history of this horse and it's commemorative hat is so special. One of my all time favorites Jim. Mostly due to the history.

Crazy hat Charlie. Quite a showpiece. Wicked hat.

Last evening a Quiet Man cap (Cordova Cap) was my choice for the late evening commute.

Strong winds are moving around the brim on my Akubra CD. This is the Lounge version with 2.5" brim in bluegrass.
