Taking advantage of the 60-deg. weather to wear the first straw of the season. A Bailey U-Rollit that is probably older than me.

That's a great straw, Bob. Does U-Rollit mean that the hat can be rolled up? That would be pretty darned cool for a non-Panama.

Super looking VS Charlie, getting those straws out for next week?

Heading out on a cold ,rainy morning, one of Daan's LBF berets.
Nice color Bob.

Great Mossant and pics from the field.
I'm jealous of your job. Back in the olden days, I was going to go for a PHD in history. My focus was going to be South Asia. Didn't pan out. But history remains my first love.
Need an assistant? Will work for space to duct tape together three or four refrigerator cartons in your back yard, access to a power supply, a shower and the occasional opportunity to wear some of your hats.
I could move you into the Hat Room in the back of the house. PhD in history, "do you want fries with that?"

Great shots, Mike. Looks like you had a great time. Is that wax in the first picture? Somewhere underneath all that, is there a wine bottle?
It does look like a giant Chianti bottle. No, this is art. Guess it just is over my head.

Thanks for all of the kind words and likes related to the Borsalino and Richard Stewart's hat.
This Premier Vita-Felt Process hat hasn't been in it's original homburg form for years because I dig it so much with a pinch and teardrop crease. This morning it went for a steam bath before being re-homburgized.
The results do not infuriate me.
I include a few shots of it the other way from a couple of months back. I think that the above and below comparison is kind of neat.

Have a groovy day.

Sometimes you just gotta let a Hommie be a Hommie. Looks good anyway you pet it.

The weave on this one is so light and airy. Great air conditioning when temps hit the century mark soon. How old is it, you, being in your early 40s and all.

I do love the color and finish of this Borsalino Stefan. Very classic.

A tad of snow coming down this morning. A Willner's Special derby is entertaining me

I was debating doing some shoveling, but I may leave this stuff to melt on it's own. It sticks to the shovel like it's mixed with super glue. Would make a hellacious snowman though. Maybe I'll just roll the path clean with some big snowballs.

Or maybe I'll challenge the weather and take a walking tour of downtown.

Have a fine weekend,
Michael

Greetings Wesslyn et al:
Congrats on the new release. I listened to several tracts and your vocals immediately reminded me of some Moody Blues and Pink Floyd vocals. That’s never happened before! Had to stop cause i “went back” too fast! You have the gift...hope you go far.
Hat and clothing wise...do you change in a phone booth?? Whoda thunk it!
Be well. Bowen
Pink Floyd is my favorite band, so I take that as a great compliment !
Now I'm trying to think of the last time I saw a phone booth...

That's a great straw, Bob. Does U-Rollit mean that the hat can be rolled up? That would be pretty darned cool for a non-Panama.

Thanks Matt! I think the U-Rollit name was due to a wire in the brim that allowed easy forming. If I rolled it up it would crumble like a Shredded Wheat biscuit.

Haha ... thanks Mike! I think the hat is from the late '50s. I'm a 1960 model.

Cool derby Michael. You know, April is only a week away, you guys better get this snow stuff out of your system before Easter.

Thanks Red. It is a pretty nice derby. I noticed the snow melting on it after I came in this morning

Seems to be somewhat water repellent. Unfortunately, they already have the next snow in our forecast and I believe it is in April.

And me after a little over an hour and a half of shoveling

it started up snowing fairly heavily again while I was shoveling. I hope my fur cap doesn't mind a good soaking. Maybe I should give it a style while it's damp?

This was not the icy cold, light and powdery stuff I have been shoveling all winter. This was the heavy, sticky, probably moved 3 tons of water today stuff.

Hey all!
Going with the Stetson 3XBQ c. 1950 on a chilly grey afternoon.

This will help you to look forward to summer. At least to look protected from the elements.
