Good to see you upright good sir! Love that Belgian straw, perfect look. Have some fun, you deserve it.

I think this is my favorite style of thin ribbon, great looking Stetson. 1950s?

.
Thanks Mike, The manufacturer's tags (it has 2) are the style from the 40s and 50s but the text is in Spanish. I've been trying to find info about Stetson licensed hats in Spanish language countries but so far no luck other than a mention that they did have a licensee in Mexico beginning around the 30s. Any additional info would be much appreciated. It does have really fine felt, except for the worn spot at the pinch.

Very nice Habig, Steve. I'm quite fond of the combination brown felt and black (wide) ribbon. The Ventilo system seems unique too, but probably too labour intensive to be a success.
Stefan, Thanks! I posted some photos of the "Ventilo" system in my reply to Mike. P. & C. Habig did use it often in the 1950s but definitely labor intensive. :) I wish I could find out more about it. Here is the Austrian trademark? number.

A lot of rain here next door in the central part of Buckeye country too. Our sump pump went out when we were asleep. Woke up to standing water in the basement. A trip to Home Depot for a new sump pump and then to Lowe's for PVC pipe. Got the new one installed and got the basement cleaned up. A last couple of days from hell.

Well, I can't like that post. Sorry to hear of your bad luck, Terry. Hopefully, it's all back in order and drying out now. The rain's supposed to tail off tomorrow, I think.

Thanks Red. It's an Amana Woolen Mills jacket that was made about 15 miles down the road during the '60s or '70s.

Thanks Scotty. It's from my last small set of local hat buys last autumn or early winter. I kept the same hat, but tried some different clothes this afternoon.

I wanted to see what sort of adjustments this tweed 3 piece might need.

Thanks all,
Michael
Really spiffy looking suit Michael. Nice tweed.

Factory hat ... TFCD.

Excellent image Bob. Great hat too.

Hey all!
This 1978 Borsalino Torino rides up top as I head to the store for birthday cards for Grandma (95) and my older niece(14).

Interesting brand, is it an older custom hatter? Jobber for a department store? Looks like very fine felt.

Absolutely precious Roger. Made me smile.

Fine hat Mike, even if it's not a "real" Strat

Hat with real character Rodolfo! Love it.

Have you seen my charcoal Gannon? I really like it a lot

Edit: charcoal Mike Miller, not Gannon
The jury is still out. I am in the queue with NW Hats for a full on, in your face Whippet-esque fedora. Right now, I'm looking at a dark gray with burgundy ribbon and binding, 2 3/4" brim and mile high crown.

Nothing like front row at an NBA game in a Mallory.

Good on ya Jay. Have fun!

Looks as good, if not better.
Nice lookin felt; creased without steam?
Just an organic grab and go with this felt. I've done a little steam on the snap only.

Great to see you back up and around.

Great looking hat. And I always love the classic, vintage vibe that you bring. That's a great hat. And it looks perfect on you.The coat is just a great match for that sweet felt. Looks like one made in vintage heaven. Thanks Bill. Ha! Thanks Stefan. Great hat for a sharp dressed man, Fabio. Thanks Mike. Nice way to wrap up the wet weather. And your crease... Well... That does not suck.
Thank you, Matt!

Thanks, Red - I think it was about 4 years ago that the Biltmore plant in Canada was closed, production was moved to somewhere in Texas if I remember correctly. There was a hat store online that sold a lot of the last hats with super deals at the time.

This morning was dark and rainy (yet again) and I wore my Black Cherry from John Penman to run some errands and vote in the primary. Gotta love the Texas early voting.
