Of course... I can't complain too much for there is a nice silver lining: great top down weather.

Nice one Richard! I think Terry Jones has one and raves about the felt quality. Your thoughts?

I like everything about this hat Jack. The felt has a really fine hand, soft and smooth to the touch and for a western weight it shapes easily. It had a crooked cattleman crease and the brim was all whomper-jawed when I got it and it too about 30 minutes with a block and steam to get it to look like it does now. Of my westerns the felt is better than my '60s Number 1 but not as good a hand as my '50s Nutria Quality. Terry @TJones and I have discussed it and I think we have about the same opinion of the older Bradford felt.

Thanks... it's a braided horsehair band. I have a few and move them around from hat to hat. Not sure on the vintage or history or if the tale that some were made by prisoners is true. I'm sure some of our real cowboys would know better.
