This hat appears to have been owned by Joseph P. Purtell, a correspondent for Time starting in the 1940s.

Since Fort Worth publishing magnate Amon Carter was known to have gifted these hats to friends, business associates, dignitaries, etc., it is likely that this hat was a gift to Mr. Purtell from Amon Carter. Mr. Purtell must not have worn this hat much if at all, as the hat is in near NOS condition.

Thanks, Red - a favorite for sure.

Today it’s my Bluegrass Whippet.

Wow David! Love all of your hats but this may be the tops!

You all are unmatched in top-shelf lids lately!!

Good day for the Stylepark Templeform, Aristo 15, isn't it?

absolutely

I planned on taking the family out to the Bronx this summer for a game

my in laws grew up in the Bronx and used to go to games as kids in the 40s and 50s ... they haven't been over to the new building yet ... so I'm going to grab some tickets and take them, the kids , and my wife to enjoy a game

there is something special about going to your first baseball game ... can't wait for my kids to experience it ... and for my in laws to get back to the old neighborhood

Just watch the kids' faces when they see the field for the first time. It's magic.

I still love walking into a ballpark.

I agree the light grey is nice. But I very much like the color of your Wormser too.

Thanks steur. I think that might me my only felt ribboned hat

Thanks again, different hat different thanks. Ha ha. It kept me warm enough on my outing today, and looked good too. I think.

Both great choices. Do you wear a different hat for each sport?

Thanks,
Michael
Thanks, Michael. Not yet, but maybe I should!
