Lotta nice looking lids on display this afternoon. Hope everyone's having better weather in your neck of the woods than we are here in the Central part of Buckeye Country. Overcast, wet, and drizzly here today.
Broke out my Navy Blue Resistol 3X Western conversion for today, a gift from Michael R. Except for the sweat I reused all that was original to the hat in this conversion. The outside pics are closer to the hat's actual color...

Hey all!
It turns out that I was mistaken about this Rockel Homburg. It doesn't mind being dented, I was just too thick to figure out what dents it likes. It also seems to dig a rough diamond.

The steaming also released a fairly pungent smell of old smoke. I'm going to go get a couple copies of the local fish-wrapper and try the newspaper deodorizing trick.

Thank you. It really is a cold weather hat. And really sheds snow and the moisture that comes with it. Have a coyote one that's also nice, and it doesn't freeze up at all.

Thanks Serge, I live in Texas so I seldom get comments on my hats. People here see a lot of hats. But everytime I wear this one I get lots of comments, all positive. I'm still not convinced about the ribbon but I don't have a good replacement yet so I'll keep it for now.

Thank you, buddy. It's an old red liner Resistol. Although it was originally ugly as all get out it was a very well made hat with quality materials and careful attention to details. I was able to reuse everything except for the sweat .

Oh yeah. We're only about 80 to 90 minutes away from each other. Not far at all. We pretty much share the same weather. Snow one day, rain the next day, then sunshine on another day. This weather sucks. It's supposed to reach the 50s with more rain sometime next week.

We'll have to get together one of these days.
