Hey folks!
Happy New Year's Eve to all except those for whom it is already the New Year. To those people, Happy New Year!! And many thanks to all for the likes and kind words on my posts this past year. I have certainly enjoyed all of your posts (ALL those awesome hat pics!) but more than that the communuty we share through times both good and well, not so much. As I watch the ball drop on the tube tonight (what an outdated term in this modern day) I'll think of all you folks (banned or otherwise) with wishes of luck and prosperity in the New Year just as I will my offline family and friends.

Started the day with a 50's Whippet and it will help whip the old year out and bring the new year in. May 2017 serve as a reflective step into a healthier, more prosperous, richer family and friend 2018 for us all.

Can't believe how stiff this thing is. I used so much steam on this hat you would swear you were at a pipe fitters convention. Not the crease I wanted but apparently it's the crease the hat wanted

Give it a chance, from others experiences, these Akubras seem to "evolve" over time. It is a long term relationship, you are in the honeymoon phase at this point.

going to celebrate with some theater friends, so the Huggy Bear Cavanagh lords hat is the most "festive" in the collection. I will be thinking of all of you and your great hats celebrating as well. I missed a great end of the year on the Lounge yesterday. I was going to make multiple comments about hats and happy news. But really, one word will suffice for it all: Fantastic!

Moon... FIGHTING HAT (AND LOUNGE) MONKEY ARE FIGHTS WE CAN'T WIN (except maybe with methadone and/or burbon and/or severed fingers so we can't type or pick up hats). But seriously... I am grateful that you are back. The place isn't the same without you and your monstercrazydisturbing collection and knowledge.

My marvelous new year begins under a Vita-Felt.

We have the rare Chesapeake Bay effect snow showers today so this flake is headed out to chase some other flakes. We don't get to see much snow around here.

Well, I'm holed up in the warmth of the home today - doesn't look like I'll be motivating out and will remain (mostly) hatless. But I wanted to wish my friends a Happy New Year and wish y'all the best for 2018.

It's not a complete loss, today. I finished re-blocking, flanging, and getting a sweatband into an older piece of felt I've been sitting on for a while. I thought I'd get the ribbon/bow on today, but that doesn't look likely now. I did, however, steam, brush out, and crease a Royal Deluxe I picked up on the Bay last week.

May the new year bring everybody a wealth of hats and great BIN deals on eBay.

I do like that blue Stefan. Contrasting ribbons are great but the classic look of the matching ribbon and brim binding are just fantastic on this one.
