If you want to get an Akubra may I suggest that the best way to begin with might be getting a Call Pedy and a CD, why? If you buy from EA, Sam will charge almost the same for shipping one than two.

Also you can get wrong with the Coober Pedy in any color, even the black one rocks I love mine, and the CD's he's got it in Blue Grass Green, exclusive for EA, SB and Tawny.

Real nice hats, I believe this is the best you could get for that price.

Harv, Thanks! I forgot about this one but I decided to wear it yesterday. It does have a unique look.

Side note: Fritz Hückel wasn't interested in the hat business. He was an early automotive engineer (car design & production under the Hückel and Gnom) and was a pioneer of the European racing circuit (became the Grand Prix). He fled (to Bavaria) Czechoslovakia after WWII and financed a displaced Hückel workers startup in Weilheim, Germany.

Wore my newest acquisition, a Stetson Tom Mix, while cutting up some downed tree limbs this afternoon. It still looks like a "costume hat," but with some real world wear, I think it's going to develop into an authentic-looking 1920s western style hat. I pushed out the factory "Gus" crown crease and modified the side dents into more of an early 1900s "sagebrush crown" style.

Oh, and, unseasonably warm, sunny weather today, 50˙F or better. Usually mid-December would see near-freezing highs and several inches of snow.

I tried to do the tapatalk thing with this image off my new phone yesterday. Ended sending it to myself. Thanks to @mmbarnes for the offer to help. When things slow down today I'm going to hit him up. Broken record hat...the Borsalino Gorascu "Angora" in Misto Grigio on the OSU campus. It is such a grand hat, even the non-hatted masses notice it!

When a hat looks that good on you why would you not wear it everyday? Cool to see and hear that you play the mandolin. My Dad played one all the time but, even though I tried to learn, I just don't have a musical bone in my body.

My kid plays it too....well along with piano, violin, guitar, etc... and I have 2 left hands when it comes to music, a DNA test may be needed if he didnt look like I cloned myself in him...

Hey all!
I recently made moe-riginal No. 8, a Lords' Hat in black Winchester rabbit. I decided to call it Lord Hemingway in honor of our dear departed perma-banned Bob.
Well, today I finished his little brother Earl.

Unabashedly unbashed

And creased

The bros

Earl has a 5 1/2" open crown and a 2 3/8" brim. 125g. Ribbon is dyed midnight blue, shown compared to the black ribbon on big bro. Flanged on the same flange, but the 1/4" shorter brim gives a different effect.
My last Winchester body. oh well...

Two hat day today (actually three, but forgot ot take a shot of the third one). First one was the borsalino selentino.

After that it was time to follow in the footsteps of Matt (Barnes) with a homburg. The Lee in navy blue for its first outing (maybe in decades). Ribbon still needs a little steam.
