So cool Steve! The history you provide of European hat makers, and now automotive pioneers is a pleasure to me. Just what I need, more research projects...oh look, a squirrel! Mmmmm, shiny object.
Mike, Thanks! Actually the first Mercedes Race Team Manager (he invented the position) Afred Neubauer (also designer with Ferdinand Porsche) was from Neutitschein / Novy Jicin and a big (large collection) hat fan (friends with Fritz Hückel). His trademark was throwing his hat (probably a Hückel up to WWII) in front of the winning Mercedes.

A lovely winter morning today. Marathon gets the call in the form of my most recent acquisition.

Gorgeous satchel Michael. It is a great backdrop for that Marathon. It looks to have some age. Great coats rule.

Fritz Hückel Hutmacher Weilheim Western Germany "Zephyr Seal Velour" probably mid 1950s. This one was made for the American market by Hückel Weilheim Hutfabrik so they had to use Fritz Hückel Hutmacher Weilheim because of probable trademark issues with Tonak (Czechoslovakia).

Fantastic, Steve. The hat seems to come into its own in the winter weather.

Hey all!
I recently made moe-riginal No. 8, a Lords' Hat in black Winchester rabbit. I decided to call it Lord Hemingway in honor of our dear departed perma-banned Bob.
Well, today I finished his little brother Earl.

The bros

Earl has a 5 1/2" open crown and a 2 3/8" brim. 125g. Ribbon is dyed midnight blue, shown compared to the black ribbon on big bro. Flanged on the same flange, but the 1/4" shorter brim gives a different effect.
My last Winchester body.:( oh well...
Have a great day!

Job well done! I especially like the front to back curve of the brim, John. Very nice.
