What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

No obvious identifications as to the maker on this one. It's previous owner, the greatly esteemed @rclark, informed me that Brad Bowers identified it as a McLachlan.

Beautiful, Matt!! Do you or Rick know what told Bowers that it's a MacLachlan? The one I have came with the "corrugated" venting in the front of the sweatband.

I think it looks great as a fedora. It looks to me that whoever converted it did it right, rebinding the brim to not show the exposed stitch line normally not prominently featured when the brim is curled. That's what derailed my original plan of ironing out the curl from my Borden 'burg.

Ever since the 'burg bug seized me though, I have been dreaming to see it in that form. Of course... hat glutton that I am, I wish that I could have it both as a fedora and a homburg.

Dang hat physics not allowing it to be both at once...so go for the compromise and have the back brim flanged like a 'burg and leave the front as a snap brim like that short-lived fad in the thirties...the mullet hat!

Why, thank you! It's just a beater (yeah, a pretty nice beater), but well loved by me. It's a nifty dark gray with an almost purplish hue and the ribbon is almost a plum.
