Cheers red, I love the colour too. The crease is a work in progress.

Now I wonder where I could have gotten the idea to do that? Thanks man, it's nice coming from the inspiration.

you can add my congratulations, must be something.
second oxblood hat in two days here, i'm really liking the colour. Nice hats too of course.

Thanks, Karl! Oxblood felt might be the most difficult color to accurately capture. The darker appearing one is much more true to life. It's a dark color.

Beautiful hat with that ribbon combo, Charlie. But around my place it's beef...no dairy.

"You see where I'm goin' with this?"

I KNOW where you're going with this, and I'm on board, Jack! I spent some years working in a (mostly beef and veal) slaughterhouse. Made a killing there! Beef is best, bud, but I've never met an ice cream cone I didn't like, either.

This shirt came from my daughter's short time as an employee there. I think it was her first job as a teen, years ago. She didn't last long, though, because the owner discovered her secretly giving only low-fat ice cream to those customers that she felt needed it. Now you know some of what I've been through...

In Paris for work but have a cousins wedding tomorrow. Staying at a place my parents bought 27 years ago when the area, the Marais in the 4th, was rough. I used to go to a hat shop 30 seconds from their place and talk to the guy but could not afford most of the hats. This is what it used to look like:

I went to have a look today but it has closed! It now looks like this :(:

I raided the three vintage shops in the area. Found some ok hats including some Mossant, Barbisio, modern Borsalino, Wegner and either not in my size or not sure... some larger size hats (I was thinking of you big head guys), but felt was stiff, or they were too battered, even some Borsalino's in black.

Dark grey heathered Mossant, brim and size a little small:

Really nice dark grey Mossant Homburg - one size too small, would otherwise have gone for it

So I struck out and went home. I was just looking for something in a cupboard and glimpsed a brim. What's this? A straw? For me?

Just grab and go today, fellas. MrsFed's beloved father passed away during the night. We started getting messages from Ecuador about 4 a.m. pacific time. All good thoughts and prayers are welcome. Looks like she'll be heading out on a flight tonight and I'll be here covering the bases at home.

Hug your loved ones. You just never know when...
