Lotta nice looking lids this Sunday afternoon. Everyone looks great. I'm enjoying some coffee by a Japanese Maple that I grew from a seedling. Wearing another of my conversions. This is my Stagecoach Tallboy, so named for the tall crown.

Thanks Red. The boater served me well on my outing to the Arts Fest. I didn't see any other boaters there. I did see a lot of straws, panamas, milans, etc and a few cloth types. In fact a quick poll of my memory tells me there were more hats than ball caps out today. And they lied about the few degrees cooler. I think we will surpass yesterday's 91 in about 10 minutes.

You're quite welcome. I had actually thought of something along the lines of a Strat clone with whip stitching, (halo trim), around the brim edge rather than using ribbon. Good luck in your quest.

I was putting away the fur felt hats this weekend and pulling out some of the straw stuff when I came upon an old favorite. You know when you have so many hats you tend to forget what you have. It is always a pleasant surprise to rediscover that forgotten hat and begin to reacquaint yourself with it.
The old navy Biltmore Milan still feels just right.

I wore a hard hat today while I removed downed trees. The prior two days I wore the same old Scala "Panama" (my wife a Cripple Creek Hat Co.) that we dressed up with newly purchased beaded hat bands from the local craft fair.

Finally a hot sunny day to trial run the new Akubra Reef. I was looking for a wide brim for summer and this one fits the bill.
