Loving the plaid jacket, nice combo with the green and red striped tie.
Thanks Perry. The jacket is what I think is called a clerks coat that was made my Merrill Woolens in Merrill Wisconsin. I think they went out of business in the mid to late 50s. The tie is an unlabeled woolen that was sold by a now defunct local dept store, most likely in the 60s, though it could be older. The overcoat is from the 40s, ie a 1939 union label. So an early 60s hat might be one of the newer things I'm wearing today. Ha ha.

Thank you again for all the kind words yesterday. It was very encouraging -- I can't wait to start the next project! Today it's definitely too hot to wear the homemade piece again (mid 80's) so I'm back to the panama. I'm also not sure this jacket will last long... The sun is hitting the side of the building my desk is located in, and it's HOT:

Hot da-yum, that's a nice one, David!

I love that one, Bob! Very nice indeed!

Yesterday, Stetson snow boss.

An amazing hat, Alan. Are those original stitches on the sweat? Have you been able to date this one? It's such an icon of Stetson history and art!

Holy finger freezing cold Batman. I may have to switch back to the fur hat, but for now the allure of the new Royal Stetson is too strong.

It photographs much more blue than I see it. In the house it appears almost a taupe.

Is it going to warm up soon?

Hope everyone is having a fine Wednesday.

Love the hat, love the jacket... you sure can put together a suit of clothes Michael!

Thanks for all the compliments yesterday. Blue skies and record warmth today. Wearing my early '50s Resistol Skyfleet.

That is really great, and you look so good with the suit and tie. I love the bound brim with the additional double stitching!
