Merry Saturday.

Today's hat is a LEGITIMATELY accidental purchase (this moron screwed up a "buy now" on Goodwill. Don't ask...). I tried to weasel out of it, but they weren't buying. So... $25 after shipping. But, I do not wear a size 7.

In any event... I found this (what I reckon to be late '50s or early' 60s [haven't done the research on tag, liner tip, etc. yet]) Royal DeLuxe in the box I received Wednesday. Still has the original price tag.

After a gentle sponging of a stain that I originally feared was a felt tear and a night undergoing my patented MATTASTIC[emoji767] stretching process, it is a very comfortable fit. Kind of nifty... Just joined my wife for lunch at her work. First comment after "Hi dear", "I don't like that hat. It's too short." The boy chimed in that the ribbon is too wide.

Borsalino from the fifties restored with craftmanship in BSHW - USA

Bob provided new ribbon with Borsalino bow and vintage Borsalino lining and new sweatband

"Dattero" is the color and the rest is vanished

The Borsalino arrived in bad conditions with some issues and the pinches very used

Bob shaped it as a Italian Borsalino in the forties I was not convinced firstly, then one day I had it on the head, an old man look at me and said "this is a true hat, surely a Borsalino, it is fantastic". All said in our vernacular idioms of Verona
This was one of the best compliment I had in the last months

So here it is to catch the midday sun

My risk was to put it in restauration because of its poor conditions and the number of Borsalino I have that, IMO, need work, but I like the color "Dattero" so much
The result, thanks to Bob, is really nice very old fashioned

Thanks D. The only homburgs I have are Biltmore, this one and two milan straw ones. All purchased on the same day at Goodwill and all came originally from the same store in Virginia. The shoes are some later model made in India Florsheims.
