That's lovely Ant. Great color too

Simply perfect. Lines, dimensions and all

Wow, Rosenblatts has been closed for a long time. What an absolutely gorgeous piece of felt, Anthony!

Another exceptional hat Moon! It even looks light and comfortable in the photos. And it hails from FedOregon and my neck of the woods. Found a website with a mention of the Rosenblatt Department store. Out of business for a long time.

Very nice , i like the style from the 30´s. Is this a Austrian hat ?

Your hat´s and especially your bashes are great Moon

thank you all very kindly ... I'd like to hear more about Rosenblatts

Off to the opening home meet of Oregon State Gymnastics! Wife and I have season tickets. Sporting my newly refurbished Stetson Royale Deluxe. In solidarity with light weight hats today. Mike Miller and I am amazed at the soft, paper thin felt on this old Stetson. I'll have to weigh it, but I think it is the lightest hat in the stable. Rainy and crappy today in Oregon, but maybe this hat will make the dreary day seem brighter.

Royal Deluxe Steson Sweat RIP.jpg

Here is the sweat. Leftover carnage from the refurb. I noticed the price tag of $12.95. I seem to remember seeing a thread that dates Stetsons based on price. I'm thinking 1958 is the earliest date. Making this hat 1 year younger than me!

Very nice! Stetson Royal DeLuxe cost $12.50 further back than 1958 - perhaps to the early years after WWII, but I am not sure. Here is one of the Stetson price dating threads:

http://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/dating-vintage-stetsons-by-price.15879/

A two ounce hat body was a pretty common entry in manufacturer style line-ups. The sweatband adds substantially to the finished hat weight. The ultra-lights I have range from about 2.5 - 3 ounces in their finished form. They are lovely to hold and to wear.

Thanks everyone for the compliments on the Borsalino Angora.

wow !!!

standout of the day for me ...

that thing is bananas ... what does the Manufacturers tag under the sweat look like ?.... is it colored ?

what a gorgeous hat !!!!!!

Misto Sodium Gorasgu. Alan was kind enough to estimate a date of 1948-1952. Check out the beauty he posted in the Borsalino Brotherhood thread.

I'm interested in why it's called the "Eddie?"

Oh! That's interesting. Does it say "Cross Country " on it? I have a Hankachif Dobbs that is Identical to a Westward but doesn't say Westward anywhere on it.

It says Cross Country on the liner stamp. A photo I seem to have left out of the Dobbs Diner when I got it.

Just perfect Jim!! It is so soft that when you blow your schnoz on that Hankerchif it doesn't get all red and irritated.

Thanks, It's amazing. Weighs in at 72g.

From John's website :

The Eddie - is a modern, sharp-looking alternative to the larger brimmed fedoras of the classic period. Featuring a smaller crown and very contemporary “stingy” brim, this hat will keep you looking hip, all the while setting you apart for its high quality and hand-crafted finish. I’m confident that my step-father would have agreed, whose name I give to this beautiful hat, and whose grandson wears the first one I ever made.
