Another exceptional hat Moon! It even looks light and comfortable in the photos. And it hails from FedOregon and my neck of the woods. Found a website with a mention of the Rosenblatt Department store. Out of business for a long time.
That's the same site I reviewed, Red, as I had never heard of Rosenblatts before.... I saw another mention of Rosenblatts/Klopfenstein's which leads me to believe that at some point Klopfensteins took over Rosenblatts. I do recall Klopfensteins when I first moved to the Portland area in about 1986.

I concur. I remember Klopfensteins advertisements. Never been into the store, but the name is still in my mind. I even remember buying clothes in the Gay Blade!!

Not 100% on the date , Jim. But brim width on this one is wider than later versions that I've seen. It has an unreeded sweat. The Logos and the way they are printed on the felt as well as the sweat. The Hatted Professor page has a lot of good info for dating Dobbs. This one could be early 50's but I would guess no later than that.

OK, going back and reviewing mine, the re-order tags are 1950s, and the Game Bird I purchased at the same time has an OPS Label ('51 - '53). Since it appears both my GB and CC were purchased t the same time from the same store, I can narrow mine down to those three years. My CC also has a 2 3/4" brim.

I think I'll go put it on for Saturday errands. It's going to be in the 60s today - perfect for an unlined hat.

Gotta love those OPS labels! They sure help a lot with dating these old hats. Does your CC have a gold Dobbs coach on the sweat logo?

Very nice! I'd love to see a side shot of the bow treatment of your The Eddie.

Merry Saturday.

Today's hat is a LEGITIMATELY accidental purchase (this moron screwed up a "buy now" on Goodwill. Don't ask...). I tried to weasel out of it, but they weren't buying. So... $25 after shipping. But, I do not wear a size 7.

In any event... I found this (what I reckon to be late '50s or early' 60s [haven't done the research on tag, liner tip, etc. yet]) Royal DeLuxe in the box I received Wednesday. Still has the original price tag.

After a gentle sponging of a stain that I originally feared was a felt tear and a night undergoing my patented MATTASTIC[emoji767] stretching process, it is a very comfortable fit. Kind of nifty...
