Hi Rick,

Don't know much, picked up the hat off Ebay and had Optimo clean and put a new ribbon, it was originally a thin ribbon OR clone. It's a nice sturdy hat.

Thank you very much. This hat is pre- WWII (likely 1930s) which probably accounts for the felt character at least as much as the felt content. It is very dense, soft and smoothly finished. I have few if any beaver felt hats from this period that are marked as such, though I have quite a few in nutria. My sense is that the nutria felt was finished to compare in quality with beaver which was very costly and in short supply at that time.

Bob, I got this in Veracruz Mexico, went there on business and had this one ordered, my customer picked it up for me, packed it and ship it.

It took 3 week to have it.
