Wow, cool caps this weekend!
Tenorclef, nice fez. And gotta ask: cello or bassoon? Or neither?

David... wooHOO! Three cheers for the tumwater silver belly! And your cap is muy macho, indeed.

G. Durand, I'm going with Manfred on this: great drink and great hat, but try not to drink your hat!

Sam, I'm amazed at your versatility as a hat wearer every time you make that beret sing.

Richard, looking good man! Head to toe.

Manfred, WOW. A most excellent homburg in a very suave hue.

Rusty, the CD looks sharp. 2 5/8 is the shorter version, yes?

Eric, you have posted some beautiful hats and photos of them lately. What a fine collection.

Andy, meant to comment previously, but I'm really enjoying your posts, and just love the way you shoot your lids with the beaded jewelry.

I am purusing the thread this morning. Fine pics you fellows have shared. The variety is enormous. Thanks for sharing.

Wool Pendleton weather this morning has me wearing my 50's Lee All-American.

It's great to see autumn arriving and the felts returning.

Tom - the Marathon looks like a nice light-weight felt. I imagine very comfortable.
RBH - I missed out on those shorter brim CDs. More's the pity. Any CD is a good CD - no matter what the brim size.
Eric - the Lee resembles the Wanderer. Are the dimensions similar?

For me today it's my Royal Stetson (again). Just can't keep this off my noggin.

I love the bow treatment. And I appreciate that though this fedora was unworn when I received it, it was not perfect. a stain here or there (you can see what I believe to be a water stain on the brim under the center of the bow). Though I've tried gentle measures to remove the stains, and most have gone away, a few remain. And they can stay for now.

Andy; The Lee All-American has the exact measurments as the VS Wanderer. A newspaper ad for a Stetson Wanderer had the brim at 2.75 " and the the crown height appears to be of similar dimension. Being schooled in Engineering in the old school method, I have taken metal dividers and compared the dimensions. The ratio of brim to height is similar. I am using a newspaper ad, but it puts me very close to knowing more about the hat. I am troubled by the pics as can not se, with certant,y about the blocking of the crown. I see that the Stetson has a bit of a taper to the top of the crown. The Lee is a straight shot from brim to top. The vintage Lee and Adam fedoras I have from the 50's have a very crisp look to the creases. While I like it, I pecieve softer lines of the creased Wanderer's (that I have seen only in ad's). As to the ribbon, my VS Wanderer's have the exact same ribbon dimensions. The bows are different (length of bow and stitch marks). Not a huge difference. No one would ever know about these changes but Wanderer afficianatos. I image the world population of those folks to be VERY small. :D

The Stetson Wanderer ribbon was identified by Gtdean as "7/8" ribbon band & 4 ligne edge binding. http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?47675-They-call-me-the-Wanderer/page2 .

If you follow the link you can see examples of 2 real Wanderers. One Stetson and one Mallory.

The above is not much to go on, but suffice, they are very similar. A future custom I would consider asking for the rear of the hat ribbon end to jaunily lay above the ribbon that circles the hat. Same hat/ribbon dimensions to the Lee above, but a jaunty and (for me) a bold ribbon treatment. My wife has been reading some of the post over my shoulder and is reminding me I may be getting stuck in a rut with my hat choices. The only way to solve that is to aquire a bunch more. :eusa_clap

Like the Stetson sir.

That is a prime Lee all American, Eric. Mine isn't quite so shiny, I wonder if the dimensions are the same.

Lookin good, Andy!

I'm enjoying a lazy morning coffee in my belamey homburg.

Excellent information, Eric. I often wonder - was Stetson always first? Or were they sometimes second to the table?

One of the things I enjoy about my VS wanderer is the hand-creased soft lines of the crown. The same with this Royal Stetson, which clearly was shipped open crown. When it arrived at my house it had a soft teardrop, which fortunately steamed completely out, and is now a much taller and I feel more appropriate center crease.

Bowlerman - based on all the Homburgs I've seen you wear, I have one in a rather similar color to the one you're currently wearing arriving this coming week. I hope it looks as good on me as your homburgs look on you.

Great start to a Sunday guys, I see a lot of silverbellies today, always a good thing. Coupla great hombergs and a beret too - top notch.
I went out in my grey Dobbs this morning. I posted the pic in the fedoras and hawaiian shirts thread so I wouldn't clash with the sweaters and pendletons, which also are quite awesome. Y'all enjoy your fall weather, I'm a little envious.

Richard - I haven't seen this cheese here in the States - but I'll look for it. This morning's cheese was from Ireland. I'm thinking the Irish may not be known for their cheese, as this one was so mild I could hardly taste anything.

TJ, sorry, we both post to the same time. Thank you very much for your kind words.
I want to give it back, that compliment! You look sharp in every Fedora you wear my friend, you have the right face
to wear hats. Like the sweater you wear today too!

Andy - the Irish don't have a long tradition of cheese making, but they are increasingly producing some nice farmhouse cheeses. They've got such a large dairy industry they produce a lot of run-of-the-mill cheddars as well. Durrus is worth hunting out, and Cashel blue is good.

Sam - Nice tweed cap. I don't think I've got any Donegal caps, but I've a few Harris Tweeds to dig out for the autumn.

Thanks for the compliments on yesterday's offering. Today, was damp but mild, despite the promise of a decent day:
