AnA, both hats looks great on you! The question what to wear today is difficult!

Justin, you look great in your Vintage clothes, very very nice!

Al, fantasic as always, your super Optimo is a hammer hat. It's a pleasure to see you wearing it!

Robert - Nice pugaree

Sam - Looks good - nice ribbon proportion

Alan - great fun. 50's?

HamilcarBarca - looks sharp - any shots of the bash from the top?

-------------------------------

Thanks for the comments on the Rehfus - I didn't reallt need another brown stingy, but the price was too good to ignore, and it's a different shade of brown.

Manfred - I saw the article where the factory was closed in 63/64. If I was asked to guess the vintage I'd have put it at 80's/90's - any idea whether they continued production elsewhere?

Warm but breezy today.

Wegener Homburg:

It's a tad formal looking for going jacket-less (I think the grey oddly looks more formal than a plain black homburg)...

Richard, No, this factory, definitely closed in 1963-64.This hat could be a "new" old Stock hat from a retailer who stored some Rehfus.

Nice ones today, gtdean, Sam, hamilcar, mok, Alan, rlk, and joao! Apologies if I left anyone out-- difficult to check while responding on this kindle.

Joao, hope you're breathing easier at night.

Alive n amplified, nice! I wonder if part of my problem is that I just don't care much about clothing, and if I do have a wardrobe budget, it almost always goes to a hat. Sheesh!

This morning I wore my 7x cbor with a new crease. It fits much better now. On the fence about keeping it in the classifieds now, though I could still use the dough.

Still wet in this photo.

Ah! How could I forget those. Beauties, Justin, David, and g Durand! Shining examples guys.

Nah, I disagree. You can easily wear that casual. Jeff and I were weighing in our thoughts recently about black hats, and then he wore a black / midnight blue homburg with a t-shirt. It was brilliant! Yours looks perfect jacket-less. :thumb:

Glad to see you on the pages again, Joao! And a beautiful hat!! :eusa_clap

Now that I've been at my new job, I have to wear a lot more dress pants/shirts and sometimes suits. Now when I get home I've been changing in to shorts and a t-shirt. Though, I haven't been taking any pics of the ultra casual fare yet. ;)

A brim for the ages, Alan. Splendid!

Props to Joao and Alan for the wide brims today!!:yo:

...would those be considered "WABs"??? [huh]

It's late and I'm propping my eyes open as I write. Thanks to everyone who directed kind comments my way today, and to all who posted. What a diverse, high quality showing today, gents. This afternoon I wore the Dobbs Twenty lightweight for the first time. It was enough to prompt a gentleman behind me in the grocery store checkout line to comment, which started a conversation about vintage hats. Now to get some sleep. See everyone tomorrow.

Thanks - not NOS - it was pre-worn, but very lightly judging from the inside - quite dusty on the outside so it had been stored for a while.

Thanks for the comments on the 'burg.

Joao - Stetson looks good. Hope you're sleeping better.

Bowlerman - the cbor looks good with that crease.

Alan - a great hat to sit under and contemplate. I decided long ago to stick to courses that have minature windmills and ramps.

AnA - looks great with that shirt.

Justin - I can see why you're loving that hat.

g.d. - The Dobbs looks great - I can see why it's a conversation starter.

The word vicarious has never held so much meaning to me as viewing your posts right now, Al!

Glad to have you along, even if only vicariously through a few images. :) Wonderful portraits and hats, as always, my friend!

Al, looks like so much fun!!

Thanks, Justin. Love your old fuzzy Stetson!

Wow, so many great hats today. Since I'm getting in late, I'll just say "kudos everyone".

Appreciate your kudos as well as your fine lids today and yesterday.

Al, Splintz, G - nice hats guys.

Thank you, David. Terrific hats you have chosen.

AL - Lovely shots again.

Compliments on your fine photos, Richard, and thanks for your kind words!

I love your photos, delectans. May I request something, though? More landscapes and hats and fewer virtually identical portraits?

Thank you, Andrew, and welcome. I appreciate your candid comments.

I will post many more photos of landscapes as well as subjects I find visually compelling in a more appropriate thread, FEDORAS AFIELD, when time permits.

My hat selection for this trip is limited to the three Montecristis I brought along, so I am afraid my hat portraits will be somewhat repetitive. As far as virtually identical portraits, they are a manifestation of my affinity for photo montages.

Al, fantasic as always, your super Optimo is a hammer hat. It's a pleasure to see you wearing it!

Your kind words are always sincerely and deeply appreciated, Manfred!
